Congrats Dillybar! By the way, I was wondering how did you contact the admissions regarding your status of application? Did you call? or e-mail? Thanks in advance!

Hi Guys!

I finished my Academic Foundations certificate at the end of August 2016. I applied for Fall 2017 and obviously I did not get accepted. I have a complete GPA of 3.03. I had 1 C+, 3 B-, 2 B, 2 B+ & 2 A-. Do you guys have an idea of when I would get accepted into the Douglas nursing program? Of course this would be me applying for every intake until I get accepted into the program. Thanks a lot you guys!

Theoretically, you won't get accepted till the 2018 fall intake. And realistically, more like 2019 Winter intake by my estimation. For some odd reason, Douglas College had double the amount of Patho and Micro classes in Fall 2015 (ie from the normal 3 patho to 6 patho (3 in David Lam and 3 in New West)). If I had to bet money on it, I would say winter 2019 for Douglas to take you.

Hey Leslie_dhy, I actually called the registrars office and was transferred to the department where I was able to leave a voicemail and then I got a call back and they answered all my questions!

Hello everyone! So, i just talked to the admissions officer, and she told me that I'm in the top 10 short-list and they dont anticipate sending new offers before christmas holidays. Is anyone of you know the difference between a short-list and a waitlist? I was just trying to keep my hopes high and staying positive í ½í¸¬ Thanks!

Hey, I think this just means you will be offered a seat if someone else rejects their offer. Seems like most offers have been made, so now they have a short list going meaning you meet all requirements and will be offered a seat when it becomes available.

Exactly, it is a wait list. I feel like if you are in the top 5 you might still have a chance to get in. Because September is so far you never know what will happen and some people may need to pull out, or may even change their mind.. or could get into another school of their choice like Langara for example and then later on decline their Douglas offer. It is annoying for sure to have to wait, and I would still apply for Jan 2018, but you never know you might still have a chance to get in! It is still really early in the application process. So lots can change!

Hi! Same here! My status hasnt changed. It's still " initial admission req. complete". I asked the admission officer and she said she will be sending more offers as soon as seats become available. I asked if My application is already rejected; she said, I'm in the top 10 short list. Do you mind if I ask whats ur gpa like? Thanks

So, i guess we have nothing to do but just to wait..

I dont know my exact gpa but i assume its around 2.9.

I'm thinking, since my gpa are not high enough, would it be better if I retake some of the courses to upgrade my grades? would that give me a better chance of getting in?
