Just started the LPN/RN bridge program and I am already freaking out over the dosage calculation exam we have to take..must achieve 100% (with 3 attempts) to advance in the program..I know medication administration is very important but also in the real world I would have formula cards to go by if needed..but we wont be able to use anything but a calculator on the exam. Since math is my all time worst subject after only the first day of class I am already stressed..Ok Vent over!!!

Here's a website DosageHelp.com - Helping Nursing Students Learn Dosage Calculations for help. Also the use of dimensional analysis (DA) is the best way to handle any situation. I've used DA in all my sciences and it is the most effective if you need to change from different units Fun with Dimensional Analysis

Good luck. My program had weekly dosage tests that you had to get 100% on each time.It was nerve wracking for many.

We were not allowed calculators on our first test last week, and neither will we be for the next ones. Once you learn your formulas, you're good to go, especially if you can have the calculators help!

I had to do the same thing in my LPN class too. I am not good at math at all, so I was very nervous leading up to it. It turned out for me that I got a % 100 on my first attempt. If I can do it, you can too! Luckily in my RN program we just had 5 math questions on each test, so we didn't have to take that dreadful math test.
Ok guys..I passed it with 100% on my 2nd attempt!!
@OSUFan1....congrats!
