Dorothea Hopfer nursing school

Published

I just got accepetd to this school. Just wondering if anyone here has been to this school and what you've heard about it. Or if you know of anyone that has graduated from this school and what they thought of it. Any info will be helpful. I'm thinking of going there or maybe just going upstate to Alfred State. I'm leaning towards Dorothea because it's so much closer to home. NAd no relocation is a plus.

Thanks any info will help!

Hi Tameika,

I took the NET exam and I scored in 90th percentile. I didn't find the test questions to be difficult, it was the lack of time that was a problem. You have to rush through it. I chose to go to Cochran School of Nursing instead. It's not to far from Dorothea.

Good Luck on your exam.

Let me know if you have any other exams.

Hi Wsmith, thanks for your speed response... wow thats good... 90th percentile.. congrats... I want to take the test for Cochran also, but someone told me that Dorothea has a better program. Did you start at Cochran as yet? if so how is it going...

I choose Cochran because it had a better program due to its reputation in Westchester. Cochran is good but it's tough. Especailly Med-Surg. I really beieve that I will pass the NCLEX once I'm done.

But all NS are tough, seriously. Apply to both & go to the school that accepts you. You can't lose.

Thansk again for your reply. i called Cochran today and they told me that the deadline for fall 2008 has passed. I am going to try and apply for spring 09. Wish me luck, same to you..

I know for a fact that you can still apply to Cochran, there are still more seat are open. However you have to taken General Bio, Che, Algebra in H.S. if not in college with a C+, also have taken A&P 1,2. to apply. But you must pass the TEAS test

apply to as many schools as you can. I attend hopfer and applied to cochran also. attend the open houses for both schools. both are very comparable in the education they offer so you can't lose with either one. if you have these classes under your belt, you will do fine on either entrance test. Good Luck and let us know when you get accepted. :D

I sure will let you guys know when i get accepted.. I got accpeted to an Lpn program in Jersey, but the tuition is very expensive so I was looking into an RN program since i already have the pre-reqs and the tuition is the same as the RN program. I will keep you guys posted..

Keep us posted. One of the main reasons I chose Cochran was because they offered an accelerated program which luckily I got into so I will be done with my RN degree within a yr and a half. (Keeping my fingers crossed). But thr program is tough--there is no hand holding. LOL!

Visit the schools & see which one you like so you can make the best decisions.

Let us know what happens. Were rooting for you.

hello there

since you guy are talking about Cochran SN... may i ask if what are the admission requirements aside from the TEAS test....

i have a lot of questions..but i would like it to mention one by one...
