So, I had an online chat today with the admission person at UNC - Chapel Hill. There were about 10 people in the chat room asking various questions. Well, up until today, I thought they were sending all of the admission letters at one time - until two of the people in the chat room said they had already been accepted.
From then on my mind was racing. Have they already sent all of the acceptance letters, and just waiting until the last minute to send letters to the denied students? Is it a good sign that I haven't received anything yet? or a bad sign:o? Will I be getting my letter soon? Is my application up in the air - and they just can't decide? WHAT??? AHHHH
I also found out 180 people applied for 33 spots:trout: - which is a lot more than they anticipated. I feel a little discouraged all of a sudden. Did I have my hopes built up too high? Is my application still competitive enough - and WHY HAVEN'T I HEARD YET!?!?
Just needed to vent for a second... I feel better now!
You still don't have your letter? Mine was dated April 2nd. Maybe it's good thing that you haven't received it yet! I think you mentioned you were going for the 14 month option, right? It was a nice letter- but I think they might have confused me with someone else b/c they kept saying how bad they felt that they could not offer me admission seeing that my family is SO close to the Carolina Family. I think they might have mixed me up with a legacy or something. IT was funny- a very nice/personal letter though! It just feels good to know!!
Just called the admissions office, and they said the letters were mailed last week (to the correct address I might add) and I just need to be patient. lol. This tickles me.
They said if I don't hear by next week they will re-mail it. Maybe TODAY is the DAY!
You need to CALL them. I found out at my school, even before I took the TEAS that alot of girls started saying that they had already been accepted.
I called admissions and they said, "NO! NO! NO!...This happens every year....their APPLICATION has been accepted and they have been approved to take the TEAS test, but no one has been accepted to the nursing program for this Fall."
So, some people are only accepted in their own minds...so you need to call.
I hope you get your letter soon! I know how hard waiting is. I am on a waiting list and I won't find out if I get in for sure until August. I'm crossing my fingers for you!
Hey UNC...your down the road from me I'm less than 10 minutes from Chapel Hill. Hope you got your letter. I know how the wait is I waited almost 6 months for mine.
That is really funny about the legacy thing, lol.
