Dominican University CA Fall 2022 Application Cycle

Published

This thread is for anybody who is submitting their Application to Dominican University of California’s Fall 2022 Nursing Program by the March 1st deadline.

Well I just emailed (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) because I had a transcript still missing. They fixed it and he said decisions will come out June 1st! Why so long?!?

Oh man…. maybe lots of applicants?

I applied as well! Good Luck everyone!

I have 4.0

160 hours of volunteering and one letter of recommendation.

I got in last Spring but since it is very expensive I did not go there, but now if I get in I am considering going this time.

My Stats are:

Overall GPA: 4.0

no volunteer hours, one letter of Rec, and I submitted a resume

Super nervous:/

June 1st, what a wait

Since Dominican is six semesters, does anyone know if they do courses in the Summer?

@Kardash7 no classes during the Summer

Hello everyone!

I'm honestly surprised there aren't that many people commenting on this thread, especially considering the previous threads from other semesters...so hopefully that means less applicants LOL. Anyways, here are my stats:

Overall GPA: 4.0 (although I'm still in the middle of taking organic Chemistry...I hope that doesn't affect my chances too much)

I've been volunteering at a hospice 2-4hrs/week since october 2021, so I'm not entirely sure how many hours I have exactly...

I don't have much medical/patient-interaction experience other than that since I've been working part-time as a sales rep at a retail store since June 2018.

I wasn't aware I could send in more than 1 letter of recommendation (rip) so I only sent in the 1.

Some other miscellaneous stuff I included: Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society proof of membership and on my resume I listed that I was bilingual (don't know if that matters but this was an old resume and didn't bother editing it LOL).

I really found it helpful to read all the comments on the previous forums which is why I'm being super detailed haha.

I wish all of us luck! Hopefully we all get in ?

Hello guys!

Good luck to those who applied! I can't believe I just found out about this website. I also applied for Fall 2022, along with USF but I got rejected from there so I'm scared I won't get into Dominican either. My stats are a 3.6 overall GPA, 3.82 GPA for prereqs, 1-year experience working as a CNA, 2 LoR, and I just graduated with honors for my AA degree, I don't know if they even look at that LOL.

Once again, good luck ya'll! we got this. Manifesting! ?

My stats are, 4.0 in science classes, 3.67 overall GPA. 3 LORS (from 2 ER managers and 1 Doctor). Currently work in the ED as an ER Technician, CPR (BLS) certified, have 7 years of medical experience, working towards a phlebotomy license in the meantime and bilingual in Spanish.

Seems like the Nursing field has gotten that much more competitive, we're in desperate need of RN's and not many spots in programs are available.. good luck everyone!

Hi everyone,

My GPA is 3.84 and I’ve been working as a dental assistant since August 2021 to get patient care experience. I only sent 1 letter of recommendation because I didn’t know you could send multiple LOL. I was recently accepted to USF BSN program for Spring 2023!

Hello again--

Recently reached out to (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) to confirm when decisions are coming out and, like someone else previously said on here, it's coming out June 1st. It sucks that it's such a long ways ahead...the anticipation is killing me!

I also asked whether this affects the housing/tuition deposit (since the housing deposit is due May 1 and tuition June 1) and he just said it wouldn't affect housing as there's spaces saved for transfer students.

I'm also curious whether you guys have "back-up" plans if DUC doesn't work out for ya'll? I didn't apply to any other nursing school except DUC's this time around because, at this point, I'm not sure I'd want to keep pursuing nursing after this...I might just go into Sac State and take public health if all else fails (+if you guys know anything about the major/career prospects please tell me LOL).

I was originally interested in being an elementary teacher or HS English teacher, but I don't think I'm all too keen to stay in my current junior college even longer than I have already to take the classes I need for that...I guess we'll see, haha
