I cannot provide documentation that what you are saying is a myth, but I can tell you that at my University we never had any assessments tests except a HESI format. And HESI and NCLEX in no way collaborate with each other. From my understanding our school administers the HESI just to get an idea of who needs extra help because the school must close down if many of their students are failing the NCLEX. I guess it let's the board of licensing know that the school is incapable of training individuals to be nurses. Hope this helps.

They work fairly well in pointing out weaknesses. In my case, it showed that my poorest subject was Psych nursing. I studied up on this area before the NCLEX, and passed without a problem.

The actual NCLEX seems to keep throwing you questions from the area in which you are struggling. For example, if you don't know Peds & get the questions wrong, it will repeatedly throw you Peds questions to test your knowledge in that area. At least, that's how it SEEMED to me & that's how an instructor described the test's structure to us. But this may be a myth. Anyone else know?

I took Mosby NCLEX assessment before taking the test. Actually, my college gave us access to the site for free. It gives you your areas of strength and weakness. It also gives you your probability of passing the NCLEX.

I found out that I was weak in Pediatrics. I never knew that! I also found out that, based on my score, I had a 98% chance of passing, so I stopped studying. It took away a lot of stress when I actually took the test.

Good Luck!!!

Sorry I think I misunderstood your question. I thought for some reason you thought that the assessment tests were sent to NCLEX and that is how the NCLEX is administered, based on your areas of weaknesses and strengths. Sorry for the confusion and my misunderstanding.
