I think the general consensus is that if it affects RN salaries, we're all going to quit and move to a remote island somewhere and there will be no more nurses anywhere.

This whole question relies of IF health care reform actually takes place. That's a BIG IF.

In reality ... nobody knows. Nursing compensation is dependent on many, many factors. It's very complex and the outlook is constantly evolving as societal conditions evolve.
Anyone who tells you they can predict the future about something so complex for certain is either lying or a fool.

That is what is so freaking scary about the entire bill. Nobody knows much of anything about it.
That's true of ANY significant change. If we only took action when we were 100% sure of the outcomes, nothing would ever get done. All we can EVER do is move in a direction that seems best at the time and be prepared to adjust our course as the situation unfolds.

And per this logic, health care for profit or nonprofit "enslaved" US nurses to work in Media. Which given that it involves sex for money, is a form of prostitution.
There are several well known Media stars that were nurses at one time. And well before Universal healthcare was an issue.
