Does anyone have experience with UCF's accelerated program?

The catalog specifies that:

All applicants must complete an accelerated second degree program

interview in association with a mandatory information session.

Is the "interview" a formal interview? Additionally, what can I expect from the information session?

Anyone trying for next year? I'm trying to find information about dates on informational meetings, but I guess it's still a little early.

I also am planning on applying to UCF's accelerated program starting summer 2010. I know they have a handful of informational session dates posted with a note stating that more dates will be available in the future. The application deadline I believe is Jan 15 but their website says the application wont be posted until December. I am also curious as to what is discussed in the informational sessions.

I did sit with one of the advisors in Orlando some months ago when I was considering going here. She noted that the average GPA of the last entering ABSN class was 3.7 ... very competitive program. Good luck!!

I just decided this week to apply to UCF's program, I figured I'd give it a shot and see what happens. It is the only school I am applying to in Florida, and if I don't get in I am definitely headed back to NY and focus on schools there. I was lucky to get into one of the info sessions, most of them are already filled. The only one I see that is still open is Jan 5, 2010 (!!!) .. get in while you can I guess!

The interview is not formal. It's a written interview that's designed to remove all bias. For example, did you wear a suit while another person wore flip flops, but flip flop guy would be a better candidate. Anyway, you'll have to specificed amount of time (30-45 minutes) to answer several questions. Search UCF accelerated on here b/c I and another student who just gradauted have posted some solid info. Good luck.
