you look at your syllabi? The new semester at my school starts today but two of my professors released the syllabus over the weekend and I just want to cry! I'm taking A&P 1 w lab on campus, Nutrition(online but the professor who wrote our textbook is teaching it ), and Stats(online). I have no idea how I'm going to manage everything but it has to be done and I must succeed! How is everyone else managing and do you have any tips? This is my second to last semester before applying to my program so I have no room for error.

Pretty sure I panicked when I first saw mine too! I'm taking A&P1, ethical issues, statistics on campus, and human growth and development online. My advice is to only look at the current week and the next one. That way you know what to expect without all the extra anxiety of the whole rest of the course looming over your head. Make time to study. Schedule in breaks and some free time.
Best of luck! :)
Thank you! I feel so overwhelmed with it all. I will definitely take it week by week

As long as you have taken a basic bio class, nutrition should be a walk in the park. Luckily, you are taking both it and stats online, so all exams are open book/notes. A&P is going to take the majority of your time so I'd use good time management skills and go do extra lab hours if you can.

I took nutrition with biology, micro & 2 other non-science classes...I got all As...it's doable. Micro, bio and nutrition somewhat all run parallel on some material which made it a lot easier to learn.

I know how you feel! I'm taking A&P 1 with lab, Statistics, and Sign Language this semester. My syllabus is overwhelming, but I like to put a check mark next to what I've already done. It helps me to keep track of what I still need to do (and it's sort of a "countdown" to the end of class!). Reading before class, doing homework as soon as possible, and studying in small amounts (rather than cramming it in the night before) helps me to manage everything I have to do. Good luck, you can do it!

Tips from a first semester nursing student:
1) Have a planner and write down ALL due dates (exams, papers, quizzes, etc.)
2) Focus short term (weekly readings/assignments) but glance over the rest of the month to prepare for any major tests or papers you have coming.
3) Don't get behind.
4) This will seem easy when you get to nursing school. I'm sure you've heard this already, but it's very true. I am in my first semester with 5 classes, 7 if you count the two labs separately, for a total of 18 credit hours. Every week I have (multiple) quizzes due, a paper due, a validation in lab, or an exam (or some of each). EVERY WEEK from week 2 until the last day of classes. Organization is a MUST so it's a good habit to get into now.
