In response to those who find/found nursing school easy. I want to hear from those who are finding it hard. I understand some people have found it easier than others and no offence to them, its cool they don't have to study much. But I don't find it one bit easy. So what do those who don't find it easy think???
Let's all keep in mind that each school is different. The individuals that posted that nursing school is easy may be in a program that has different expectations of their students. Example - at clinical the other day, there were students in their third YEAR of a BSN program at a 4-year college whereas our crew was in the second SEMESTER of a 2-year program. It turns out the 4-year crew knew very little about the practical "hands-on" experience that we had received by our second semester and as a result our school had a better "hiring rate"/"reputation", so we should all keep easy/hard aspect of nursing school in perspective. Each school is different.

Yup back in the dark ages it was very very hard ('72 grad of LPN school), I disapeared for over a year, I went to school and studied and that's it. Mondays all day theory then Tues-Fri 7-3:30 on the floor and then 3:30 to 5pm more theory...then home to study and I pretty much studied on and off all week end.
One of the things that really helped me was a pre-req at the time was a speed reading/comprehension and study skills course we were all had to take, they ID'd stengths and weaknesses and gave you tools to improve. This course was invaluable on so many levels. I was diagnosed with slight dislexia and given the tools to help me. Today, I love to read and read and read, I never go anywhere without a book. I know many pre-req's are required today, but if you are iffy about your study skills I highly recommend you take the time to take a course like this.
I wish all of you luck! At 59 I'm going back in, next week I start CE's to get my OH license and hopefully will be able to move to a state to take a refresher, I currently live in GA and they will not allow a refresher, I would have to start all over...not gonna happen! Not only is there waiting lists but the refuse to even accept my non-nursing credits! Anywho, good luck to you all, and yup it's hard!
