weird nurse ha.. :p hopefully ill pass (fingers crossed)

I'm just now getting ready to apply to nursing school. My lip is pierced but it's healed so I can take it out all day for clinicals/ work. The attorney's office I work in doesn't have a problem because it is a tiny stud. I also have 7/16" ears and wear plugs, which are usually covered by my hair. I agree with people on here who say they look better in than out. As a patient, I'd rather see plugs than tunnels or worse, gaping holes in a nurse's ear. If it's a huge problem, go to your interviews with flesh colored plugs. If they're close to your skin color, they're barely noticeable. I've even heard of some girls putting stud earrings in rubbery/ silicone plugs to look like they have regular ear piercings. As far as tattoos go, I heard that Kat Von D's Sephora line will soon include tattoo cover-up! Hope these ideas help!

I love big earings and I wear "big" earings everyday, except to clinicals....I think earings make a woman look more feminine and attractive, but I'm sure that a lot of people will disagree with me on this one.On the other hand I hate tattoes and I think they take feminine look away from from a woman...I'm not a nurse yet, however I'm planning to sometimes wear my "big" earings" once I start working in the hospital...

The problem with big earrings is they give out of control patients of any age something to grab. And they do grab and pull!

I have 14 mm earplugs...it doesn't bother anybody at work as long as i wear earplugs wherein they can't see the hole in my ear...

by the way I am a clinical instructor and completing my requirements now to get my Masters degree

...and I do have several body piercings and tattoos...but I always make sure whenever I go to work I dress up properly and remove some of my piercings, so my students won't see it. :)
