Does your agency still use paper charting?

I find this very annoying that in 2018 my agency (and probably others) is STILL using paper documentation for everything, including time slips. They claim they just transferred everything to computer charting for their branch in southern California, but can't afford to do it up in northern California! A law recently was passed that all healthcare agencies/offices must have computer charting by 2020. I don't get why they are dragging their feet on this issue.

Just needed to vent this. I guess they will be SOL if they still "can't afford" to do paperless charting by the time 2020 rolls around. 😂

We are getting tablets for charting in November. I am hoping it goes well.

One week in to tablet charting. I love it. Best part is not driving to drop off paperwork weekly!

We are in the process of switching from paper to electronic. I think I'll really like it. The nursing supervisor gave me a preview when I was at the office and it looks a lot like our old papers. Plus no more being hounded about notes to mail in!

Can any of those who posted about using electronic charting share what systems they are on? We are looking at potentially converting but have thus far only found charting modeled for intermittent visits.

One of my agencies is having us sign in & out using our own smart phones. The app is password protected, but we should not have to use our personal phones and minutes.

The office manager said Medicaid requires that charting be electronic by 2020, and - she says - this can be accomplished by us using our own smart phones.

I hope she's wrong.
