hey yall i will start nursing school in august and i was wondering if yall have to wear uniforms to class everyday or just when you have clinicals?

We are only required to wear our uniforms for clinicals. One girl showed up on the first day of lecture in her white scrubs, but she returned from lunch wearing something else. Opps!

The only scrubs I see in class are on people who work at a hospital and have to go after class. We only wear uniforms to clinical.

In my program we wear our uniforms to skills and assessment labs at school, and during clinicals. The instructors gave us the reason that you learn more if you are in your uniform. We'll see if that works....

Every day! And they send us HOME to change if one item is out of uniform (thong, braclet, big earrings)! We must go home to change, and we loose a half an hour of class or clinical time (whichever applies). They are tough, but I LOVE my nursing school...

I haven't started yet, but based on what I had to buy:

School scrubs for clinicals

Plain scrubs - not sure what they are for yet

Polo and khakis - for class

Specializes in Ob/Gyn, Ped & PACU.

We had one set of scrubs that was for class days & LTC facilities or private practice offices. Then we had our white set for the hospital. Had to be in uniform at all times. Got old really quick.

Only clinical at the hospital- regular clothes to lab and lecture

uniform (scrubs) for labs and clinicals... or so i've been told, don't start till august

Specializes in Adult Acute Care Medicine.

In my school we only wore to clinicals...

Is there anyone at your school that you can contact to find out what you need to wear?
