Do you think this fall class schedule is doable?

My Fall2012 Schedule:

-1st Nursing Course : NUR129(NUR 129: PROFESSIONAL SOCIALIZATION: EDUCATION FOR PROFESSIONAL NURSING PRACTICE)

-A&PII

-Nutrition

-Organic & Biological Chemistry.

Do you think the fall schedule will be too much to handle or does it seem do-able?

Thanks!!!

Depends on your determination! For me all of my attention has to be solely focused on nursing. Lots of luck!!!

I get a little nervous with having two science classes in one term. This is just me but I'd just do the A&P and do the Chem another term. But, if you feel that you can handle it, more power to you.

Are the A&P and Chem with labs? How many credits is the nursing course?? If the sciences are with labs then they should be 4 credits each..just with the 3 classes you have 11 credits..AND the nursing class which I'm assuming is at least 3.

I'm a good student with great study habits. I've maintained a 3.7 GPA carrying a full course load and a full time job. But honestly, you couldn't PAY me to take 2 science classes AND a nursing class, let alone add in a nutrition class. I have done my classes so I don't have to take any non-nursing classes with nursing classes. I'm currently an LPN and I hated having to do gen ed classes with my nursing classes during LPN school. It was rough. Nope, not me..no way!

That's just my opinion on if I would do what you are suggesting. Nope. Wouldn't do it.

I don't recommend doing A&P II and Chemistry in the same semester.

Taking two sciences like that along with a nursing class may be tough, since you'll most likely have labs. I wouldn't do it. It's not impossible but it's going to take a lot of hardwork and determination. If you feel you can take that on then go ahead. I made sure all my non nursing classes were done so that I can just focus on my nursing classes this fall.

I would not try this your first semester of nursing school. I understand determination. I took chem, physiology, and microbiology. Even though I received all As it was not easy and I would not do it again. The only reason I did it was so I didn't have to take those classes during nursing school. Do I regret it nope. I don't have to take them again. But I am still taking classes with my nursing classes. But this is a choice because I want my full stipend. But one is a eight week class and one is a teacher I had before and I know she is kind of lax. If this becomes hard I will drop them. I don't need them for my current program. They are for my bsn MSN dual program I am doing after my asn. Good luck to you!!!

I'm with everyone else - I wouldn't do it. If you think you can, by all means, you should do it. I had all my prereqs done before starting nursing classes and I'm so glad I did. I had a lot of friends who were still taking one or more prerequisites (including science classes) who struggled all semester. A majority of them failed :( I would hate to see you in that position.

You know yourself and only you know if it is possible for you. It will definitely take a lot of hard work, determination, and organization.

Good luck.

Doable if you can manage your time well but I personally wouldn't take two sciences and a nursing course if I didnt have to. But it's all a matter your determination and dedication. Good luck!!

I wouldn't do it.. but that doesn't mean you can't. Is your schedule ideal? No. But you have to do what you have to do!

Thanks for all the advice.

I am also taking these courses over the summer:

  • A&PI
  • Statistics
  • And a 1 week long chem refresher course at the end of the summer that I need to take before taking organic/biological chem since I haven't taken a chemistry class within the last 3 years.

I already have a bachelors degree in a different major, so all my general education requirements transferred over.

I guess if I feel like I can't handle those 4 courses I can always drop one.

Thanks again everyone!

Let me know how this works out for you. I am taking A&P Chem and Bio all in the fall...all three have labs :/
