Nope. I love my job. I have wanted to work with pregnant women since I was young and now I am an OB nurse. Of course there are more interventions than I would like to see, but we are still well below the national average at my hospital (C-SECTION
CA AVG.= 27.3% vs 17.7 at my hospital; PRIMARY CSECTION CA AVG.= 16.4% vs. 10.1 at my hospital; VBAC UNCOMP.CA AVG= 9.1% vs. 28.4 at my hospital; VBAC ALL CA AVG.= 9.0% vs. 26.3 at my hospital) I have come to terms with the fact that you can not have a home birth in a hospital.
I don't think I could say the same if I wasn't in OB, especially if I was in Med/Surg. My friend is and hates it. I try to be encouraging and tell her to hang in there until she can transfer. I think it is the hospital thing; she really liked home health nursing while we were in school

Work is work. I don't expect to be wildly joyful at work.
I do not regret getting into nursing. The flexibility of the work allows me to be a mostly stay at home mom and still have meaningful work.
Sometimes the grass does look greener elsewhere. My best friend is a radiology tech. There is no charting in her job. The workload is reasonable(one patient at a time) and getting overwhelmed is uncommon, and her area of responisbilty is clearly defined.

Crunch RN-This is exactly how I feel about bedside nursing nowadays. So in what area do you work now? It sounds like you got out of the hospital environment?
