...May I ask....How much?
Part ( a BIG part..) of the cost of my year long PN program will be via student loans. Our program is all inclusive ( meaning,.. covers books, uniforms, supplies and so on..) I think the only things we will have to pay out of pocket is for things like travel/gas to and from school, plus lunch etc...
The school I will attending is $$$....I'm kinda worried about having to owe so much in the end.....I'm still tossing a couple of other options ( $$ wise) around in my head,..none the less tho,....I'm going to do it no matter what!!
Anyway, if you don't mind sharing....How much if anything did you have to pay..or how much do you now owe?
Thanks!!!!!!!!

I went to school and got my BSW and came out oweing about 10,000. I deffered my loans for the first year and now I pay about $80 a month. Until I start school again and thn the will go back into deferment until I graduate..AGAIN! But, its totally worthe it. I've heard there are alot of forgiveness programs for nurses. And look into grants and work study too.

My LPN program was $10,000...not eligible for any grants since both my husband and I worked the year before. The real kicker is I'm not even nursing anymore...absolutely hated it!!! I'll be paying off my loan for another six years. Oh well...live and learn. I do intend to keep up my license after all that hard work...just in case I change my mind or HAVE to take a nursing job. Fortunately I have a great state job that I love and hopefully will be there until I retire.

Too long ago to remember what I paid.....couldn't "qualify" for anything, cuz I lived at home w/ the folks. Mind you, I was 22 at the time. Was told "Say you live with your Grandma". Told the guy straight off "My Aunt lives with her, and makes the same amt as Dad."
The pompous fool! Everything paid in full well ahead of Graduation. Oh...and I did NOT work during school.

My school cost around $21K. I took a Sallie Mae deferred loan for $12,000, and I pay the rest (interest free) to my school on monthly payments. I hope the first year I am working will be used to pay off the entire loan, but I can't say if that really will happen.
Scallywags...Wow Sounds like we may be attending the "Same " school ....I hope it will be worth it for me in the end...I don't know why my having to owe...bothers me so much .........
Thanks to everyone else who responded!!

I paid $20,000 to attend a private LVN program, and the tuition was financed entirely with a Sallie Mae student loan. I don't regret my decision to finance such a large amount because I have already earned $20,000 after only 4 months of having my license. It has definitely paid off.
The Commuter.....Thanks So much for sharing that!! ps; I just sent you a PM...

7 years of extending 3 loans (just didn't wanna pay ) and now I'm paying them back with all that darn interest.
