Do I Stand A Chance??

hello everyone. i am scheduled to take nclex in march and started doin "self-review" last december. the review material i am using right now is Saunders Q&A edition 2. i am almost through with this book and so far i am doing ok. given the situation, i was wondering if i stand a chance of passing the nclex based on performance alone in answering Q&A review books. sadly, due to financial setbacks, i can only rely on available resources in my keeping, which is saunders previous edition book that was given by a friend who already passed nclex. will appreciate any input you may have.

hello everyone !! i am taking the nclex rn too this march and i want to now is anyone of you studied the saunders Q&A cdrom and who passed the nclex. pls . give me advise. i have kaplan cd rom too and i'm done using it but i have to review it again. thanks and need ur advise. goodluck for those who will take the nclex rn .

Hi I took the NCLEX in January. Saunders is all I used, I just spent a few hours a week reading the book and looking at the CD. I got 75 questions and passed ................. good luck to you !!!!!!!!!!!!!! just take some deep breaths and don't stress, read the questions and you should do fine. Let us know how you did !!!! hello! is it just me or sometimes it is safe to think (and hope) that the computer would shut off at 75?! :-) my exam is just a few days away, and to be honest, i still have not given up on the thought of whether or not to go for it or reschedule in april.

if i were to ask you this, would you rather take the exam before april (not 100% prepared), or spend some more time studying and take the exam later (with increased passing rate). will appreciate any of your inputs:)

recently, i received a copy of the kaplan nclex trainer cd from a friend. i notice a big difference in comparison to saunders on the basis of test-taking strategies. for those of you who have taken the nclex, which is the closest, in terms of style (as far as Q&A format is concerned) to the actual exam?

Dlmickley, hope you can help me. I did just fine in nursing school but when I took the Boards on 2/28, I failed with 75 questions:uhoh3: . It was all my fault because I didn't take Kaplan or Saunders. I thought I could pass that exam without any preparation....HUGE MISTAKE!!!!!!!:rotfl: So now I have Saunders comprehensive and Q & A, do you think that I should still take Kaplan review which cost $350. I also have very limited budget. The only reason I'm considering it is because, as of April 1, the exam will changing and I heard will be harder. Please let let me know what you think. Thanks.

hey jazznkate sorry about that that u did'nt make it. anyway, just take it again and study the saunders cd rom or kaplan . as of for kaplan just buy the the book with the cd rom . if you think that would help you . i have a question do you have a lot of questions in ur exam about pediatric. i want to know coz i still on pediatric part of the saunder's cd rom and my exam is on next week and you know running out of time i still have 5 days more to study. thanks!!

I am so sorry to hear that :( It is very rare I think to get that many and fail. As far as the reveiw class is concerned it may not be a bad idea, but I realize cost can be a factor. I took a few hours a week with a study group (3 of us) reading the questions and a few more hours on my own reading and doing the CD. If the format is anything like they showed me in the tutorial right before I took my test, I think you would do just fine with a good review from the book. Again; you can over study so give yourself some free time too. Don't over analyze the questions, read the black and white and answer what the question is asking; this was a big problem I had. I can only imagine what you are feeling right now, keep your chin up and don't beat your self up over it ............. It does not mean you won't be a good nurse OK ?? take care and let me know how you are coming along OK ??
