I have this feeling we are misunderstanding each other,

I think that may be the case too. From what I have read on another thread---- this Florida school graduate, applied for and received ATT, passed NCLEX in NY and then NYS BON decided to look at the candidate's school. (perhaps, the NY BON was finally seeing a pattern). I am not aware of any of the schools in question (the list I put above - which I got from another poster) ever being accredited, rather they were 'approved' by the FBON. Now some have lost even their approval.

Some other nurses stuck in this situation have given up on NY for the time being and are pursuing a Florida license if their school was approved when they graduated.

Same problem

I pass NCLEX-RN in NY and was told by the BON that my license is on hold. Now after several months I read an article from the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools that my school lost its Accreditation. Does this mean that I won't licensed in NY. All my documents were submitted and I was ATT.

Did NY BON ever get back to you?

Thank you. I am in the same situation so it's just a waiting game now.

Good evening,

I am in the same situation. Applied to NY BON for several years, got approved, got my att and even spoke to them the year my school in Florida was closed and was told everything was great and it was accepted. Fast forward to now, took my NCLEX in April and now my license is on HOLD due to these schools being investigated and no one can give me answers. My co workers same situation but they got their licenses within a month. I am NOT understanding anything. My school isn't even on the list at all. Just was closed due to other situations.
so lost on what to do.

There is nothing you can do at this point. You will have to wait until they finish their investigations of the schools. I passed back in January and have been waiting since then. I have called numerous times and get the same answer; "Your school is still under review/investigation and we don't know when the review will be concluded." They interchange review and investigation at times but it means the same thing. You can give them a call Tuesdays and Thursdays starting from 8:30AM. They will tell you the same thing. I know how you feel trust me.

Today I got an email. But I just don't understand it because that department of directors already told me they weren't in charge of giving out license .

but here is what they stated:

Hello,

Your emails have been forwarded to the directors office. We are only able to issue licenses to Accredited Florida Schools that are listed on the Florida Department of Health website at this time at the direction of the Directors office. Unfortunately there is nothing more we in the processing unit can assist with until we get further instructions come from higher up. Feel free to reach out to them as well [email protected]

Hello, maybe we should collectively send that department an email. If they won't issue the license at least they should transfer the test score to Florida. It's unfair to keep us on hold indefinitely when other board of nursing have no issues with our schools.

I wish they would just transfer my score. Give me less of a headache. This isn't fair at all. I just want to work and feed my family. Born and raised as US Citizen and now I feel like I am being treated like a criminal. Geez

You shouldn't have bought a fake license. If you can prove your enrollment date, graduation date, classes taken and especially clinicals and this can be verified with both the school and the facility, you shouldn't have any issues. If you didn't buy your diploma, it should be easy to obtain this information whether or not your school is closed. The NYS BON was spot on with the schools under investigation:

Most if not all of these schools were mentioned as part of Operation Nightingale:

https://www.BON.texas.gov/Operation_Nightingale_Main.asp.html

Nurses in Texas who bought fake diplomas have been charged with a felony and could face 20 years.

I don't know who you are talking to. But I did not buy any fake schooling. I did my school , clinicals, clinical reports, HESI, ATI and etc. I do have proof of everything. It's not the issue. The issue when a close is closed for whatever reason, your nursing school isn't on the FL BON website so therefore they need to do more investigation and check every single applicant. Maybe you should educate yourself before insulting and as well my school isn't listed.
