Few Questions:
1. Does an actual person need to review your nclex exam results before putting your name up on their website if you pass? Like would they automatically know right away or that same day if I pass it or not just by checking my social and my name? Because Pearsonvue had mentioned to me that once I hit "end the test", the computer automatically transmits the exam to California BRN or is the the computer that automatically adds your name?
2. As we speak, the system is being updated, FYI it's Sunday and it is "3:44 AM". So would you expect to see your name on a day like this too?
Other things I did:
I called them up the day I took my exam just to check if they have all of my paperwork and the lady said that they do. So I asked her if I should just wait for like 4 days and check my name on the computer, she told me that I just have to wait for the mail which may take 10-30 days. Just to reitirate, I asked her again, if I can just check it online... she just told me the same exact thing...to wait for the mail.
3. I felt unrelieved hearing her response cuz...it's odd that she didn't give me a straight answer that I can check it online. Does this mean I failed since she couldn't give me a straight answer regarding checking your name online or am I just being paranoid?
Please help me... I'm so stressed out!

When you apply to the BRN, they start a file for you. As things come in, they get added to your file. When all has been received and this includes results from the NCLEX exam, fingerprints, as well as transcripts; then the file is sent on for someone to review everything. That is when a license number will be issued, not until then.
Yes, results are sent to the BRN all of the time, but they do not work weekends and someone has to manually place something in your file.
If you called the day that you wrote the exam, your file would not be complete as the results would have not been placed in their yet.
We always tell everyone never to phone them unless it has been two weeks, or then everyone would be delayed. If each person did this, then you are looking at more than a month to get your results. It takes manpower to answer the phones, so then things slow down with processing if you look at it this way.
She did not give you a straight answer, probably did not look at your file since there would be no reason to since it would not be complete the day of the exam.
Average wait in CA is a full ten days, and can take up to a month.
They are already closed two extra days per month, so everyone is getting delayed in some respect. Phone calls do not help anything or anyone. Please just wait.

Hi suzanne4: When you say the average wait is 10 days to a month, does that include weekends or just regular business day? Thanks for being patient to us too.

the waiting for CA is from 2-4 weeks. sometimes its more than 10 days up to month. i think it doesn't include the weekends and holidays. but since there's a news that the government of CA is close every first and third fridays of the month, all you have to do is wait.

Ca BRN website has changed recently and indicates it can take 2-4 weeks to get results where before it used to say 3-10 days. Unfortunately with Ca BRN you have no choice but wait for results. We do suggest after 2 weeks ringing them to check file is complete but remember to see name on website you must have a SSN. Until you get your results do not do anymore study

Hoping that your anxiety is in vain and that your results show that you passed.

Most of my class mates where able to see their names at the BRN page within 2-3 days (I'm in CA San Francisco). I wonder if process results quicker if one has applied for the temporary license permit? Does anyone know?
