I did Kaplan and while I found the question bank and the trainers to be immensely helpful, I VERY rarely used the tree. I did carefully try to eliminate options and obviously used the ABC's like crazy but actually breaking things into assessments/implementations and the like didn't really help me. I'm not sure if my intro to it just wasn't what it should have been or I just work better without it but I didn't use it.
That being said, I used the question trainers and the questions and did so many questions I thought my brain would explode (also used ATI). I took the NCLEX yesterday and passed with 75 questions. Good luck on yours!

That's awesome! Congrats!! I just completed the whole Q-bank and all Q-trainers.
ya bloomgirl, i get what you're saying. I agree totally that qbank and trainer and questions are so helpful; after all, they are ALL above passing level, and although I think some questions are very poorly worded and made, in general, a good collection of questions.
I am also considering whether to continue using the tree or do what I have been doing; separating questions into little steps like the Tree guides us, most times the tree doesn't even fit, and lots of times my nursing judgement end up being better anyways b/c that's what I am used to using. I mean we all knew to use ABC and assess first even before the tree right, lol. I know I will pass with 75 questions though no doubt. GOOD luck to all those taking it soon!!

I think my biggest issue with it was that many questions didn't fit the tree and I would get frustrated trying to separate them out. I think that if what you were doing before you tried the tree was working, and the tree is causing more confusion, then you need to take it for what it is - a tool to be used in the right situation. I think more than the tree, the thing I took away was "what is the one thing I could do in this moment that would affect the patient if I had to walk away". Trying to put that in to questions when I got down to 2 options was definitely helpful to me.
Did you find the questions similar? I am waiting on my ATT then gonna test end of June. I'm getting in between58-77 on my trainers. I'm not sure how to study content because I get overwhelmed with it. Any suggestions?
I feel the same way...I get overwhelmed with the content too! It's like my brain is completely fried lol.

There definitely weren't questions that were word for word but yes, they were absolutely similar. I really didn't try to study or focus on content, I did my best to do the most questions I could while making sure I understand the rationales. Good luck!
I did not like the decision tree, it was too confusing and it only applies to a handful of questions. And they did not teach us the tree until the last few months of school. And honestly when I did use the tree I got the answer wrong. So I didn't use the tree at all and passed NCLEX-RN with 75 questions. I didn't even THINK about the tree.

Hello, I have been doing bunch of qbank, qtrainer stuff for couple days and I take NCLEX on the 18th. I personally find that the Tree is actually messing me up even more, scores on qbank and trainer seem to come out little less than when I trust my own judgement.
With all honesty, I think the Tree is piece of ****, lol but I wanted to know if I was doing something wrong or that other people find it less useful also.
