I'm done with my prereqs, but until I get that admissions letter, I won't consider myself a nursing student.
I agree! I'm not yet a nursing student until that acceptance letter is in hand.

thanks for the link.. Glad to see I'm not alone!
Pre-nursing can take up to three years- maybe even four. It really sucks because pre-nursing students feel as their doing so much to become a nurse and since their on their journey to being a nurse, why not consider themselves a nursing student?
I know personally for me, I just tell people that my major is nursing and I don't go into details about it.
Like something along the lines of a school similar to Chamberlain Nursing? Well, that in my personal point of view where pre reqs are mixed into actual nursing curriculum, I'd consider myself (if it were me) a nursing student.
My program is direct entry with prerequisites built in, so what does that make me?

In my job as a CNA, I'm always meeting new coworkers who say they are nursing students. After talking more about it, they tend to mostly be pre-nursing students not yet admitted into nursing school.
I don't know why, but it bothers me when people say they are nursing students before they are actually admitted into nursing school. Almost as if a pre-med student tells people they are in medical school.
What are your thoughts on this? This is really not an important topic, but I've been curious what others would think about this!
