Hi all! Has anyone applied or been accepted into a DNP program after obtaining your MSN from WGU? I'm just wondering what, if any, obstacles or difficulties you may have encountered. The grading system is so different at WGU. I apologize if this thread is redundant.
I do not believe so. Because there is no clinical component, I don't believe the MSN counts for hours towards a post-master's certificate or degree.
Bummer.... I thought I heard somewhere that because WGU requires we work that somehow that counted. Well I enrolled and I'm prepared to tackle this no matter what. Thanks Klone
I completed my MSN under the old curriculum. I start my DNP program this month, and I've been given credit for roughly 135 hours related to my MSN capstone.Sent from my iPhone using allnurses
Thanks, good to know, I finished my MSN this past Nov. I'm hoping I get some credit. Congratulations on starting! I start in Sept.
Hello jrhill.
I am completing my MSN degree this following term and I was considering going back to school for my DNP. I was looking into Chamberlain. Can you give me some feedback about the program? Is it very intense? Overall, my MSN experience with WGU was positive. I didn't feel the tests were terribly difficult and the papers were pretty straight foward. If anything I feel much of the material was redundant and overkill and longer than it should have been. Your feedback is appreciated.

Very interesting conversation! Have any of you completed additional practice hours at Chamberlain or Chatham? Does anyone know anything about the necessary qualifications if the mentor? Also, the DNP in education is offered where?
