Dix scholar accelerated nursing to Simmons Summer 2018

Has anyone applied to that program? I am just waiting to hear from them.

Yeah I did notice that part, and if you actually add up the cost per credit and how many credits we take in the program, it is a completely different price. I tried calling the office today but they closed early for the storm. Did you also recieve very little loans ?

Yes, I got very little loan. If you go to your financial guide where it says cost of attendance, I think the budget contains both billed and non billed costs. I don't think it's gonna be that much at the end. You can get information on the website.

I have been corresponding with them a bit about this already - I am still confused but this is what I found out:The financial aid is for the award year 2018 - 2019 so it is not inclusive of the total cost/aid of the program (I think it is missing Fall 2019). The Dix Scholarship would be applied to the first 2 semesters and the Simmons grant is allocated as such: 20% summer, 40% fall, 40% spring. Federal aid is divided by the 3 terms. (Not much federal aid is available to us as second bachelors degree students so this excludes us from a lot of federal/state grants).

Hope this helps a bit! I'm definitely still trying to understand this financial aid thing too.

Additionally Dayna has shared that housing is only available on a space-available basis and that none would be available for the year

Very helpful, I think it's gonna be less than 25000 for the fall

Wait I am unsure if the award includes summer 2019, I think Financial Aid may have misconstrued my question originally...?

Do we apply again for Summer 2019 and Fall 2019?

... holy smokes this is so confusing. I think i will need to call them for some more clarity on this

Your financial aid is for fall and spring semester. I think for the summer we will need more private loan to cover our classes. And there is no tuition fees for the summer, it's gonna be less

Financial aid is for Fall 2018 and Spring 2019! You will need to resubmit your FAFSA for next year to receive aid for the last two semesters.

Hi guys! Are u all gonna be there for the orientation? Does anybody plan to create a facebook page?

Have you received an email for accepted students day on April 13th?

I recently graduated from the accelerated 16-month BSN program at Simmons. I would recommend it!

@newRN18 - which facilities were your clinical placements?

Did you have class everyday?
