Simmons University ABSN 2021
Hello! I was in the ABSN cohort that graduated this past December! Congrats on getting in- it truly is a great program and I just passed my NCLEX in 75, thanks to the rigorous curriculum. I am posting here, because I have a ton of books from the program (and some supplemental materials). I'd like to pass along for a deeply discounted price to anyone that would take them ALL from my place on Comm Ave. Everything in the picture for $150.

Loans and Nurse Residency Program
Hello All, I was wondering if anyone could provide some advice. I am beginning to look for my first nursing job and am considering all options - including a nurse residency program. My worry is the very low pay in the residency would make it impossible to sustain myself when factoring in student loans. Are loans (federal and private) deferrable while in the residency? TIA!

I didn't take this early, because of my job. I think others on this thread may have, though!

Simmons ABSN Dix Scholar Fall 2019
I have no car/drivers license, so I was VERY interested in hearing where they place. Supposedly, while no promises, they try to take your situation into account (no car, etc...). They try to make most all accessible by public transit, but you may be placed in a one or two rotations you would need to use Uber or carpool with someone.

Simmons ABSN Dix Scholar Fall 2019
@CNAGG - Is there an updated curriculum? The one linked above was from this year - I wonder what the 4 extra credits are for/if there is an extra class?

Simmons ABSN Dix Scholar Fall 2019
Hi All! I was accepted for last Fall and deferred my start to be in this cohort. I also got in to a few other programs, but chose this one d/t the excellent communication at every step with the admissions team and recommendations from other people I know that have gotten nursing degrees (both undergrad and grad). I'm 36, already have a degree from UMass in psychology/neuroscience focus, and have been working in oncology at a Boston hospital for the past 5 years. My biggest fear is being unemployed during these 16 months! LOL I've never not had at least 1 job while going to school before. I'm looking forward to the challenge of nursing school! :-)

Dix scholar accelerated nursing to Simmons Summer 2018
I applied for Fall 2018 start in April, got waitlisted last month and made it off the waitlist last week! (YAY!!!) I ended up deferring my acceptance to Fall 2019 in order to save money.

MCPHS ABSN 2018
Hi All! I found out I was accepted via the portal today! (YAY!) But, then, discover that I still need to take Chemistry I *&* II *prior to September* via the button (which shows up AFTER acceptance) about course requirements! Yikes! I wrote to admissions to say completing both within that deadline would be doubtful - then looked around on the site to see if I missed something - I couldn't find this mentioned anywhere. I had been in constant contact with the admissions person assigned to me to ensure my materials were delivered and satisfactory, but this, too, was never mentioned by them. Just a heads up to those also applying who may run into this. These are the required classes: A&P I (w/lab) A&P II (w/lab) Microbiology (w/lab) Chem I (w/lab) Chem II(w/lab) Statistics Human Development

MCPHS ABSN 2018
I was wondering about cynthiavnurse's comment, as she was accepted to Boston. I applied through the MCPHS website too and now am on month 3 of being complete and month 2 of waiting after being declared "complete" *and* "under review".

MCPHS ABSN 2018
@cynthiavnurse -When did your application become "complete" and went under review? I submitted all my materials by Jan 1, but didn't fall "completed and "under review" until Feb 1st. I am still listed as "under review" on the portal and now getting anxious!!
