This discover nursing site is awesome!!! http://www.discovernursing.com/default.aspx
It shows the true value of the ever needed RN. It has links to all sort of helpful advice on the subject of RN's. It has statistical info, helpful tips, programs, articles, and so much more. I also like the discovery Johnson & Johnson commercials that have been playing. All this hustle for the amazing RN. RN's need this kind of exposure.....keep it coming....keep it coming. God bless you RN's, all of you!!!

Hmmmmm indeed. Like many other nursing sites, Johnson and Johnson seems to have forgotten that there are nurses out here performing anesthesia. I hate it when they do that.

what about the amazing PN though? I enjoy the exposure for nursing and RN's but it almost seems to leave out a large community of nurses.... So i also say Hmmmm

After all, we can hardly leave out Nurse's Aides, can we?
But...the war is won by winning many smaller battles...
Nurses' aides are not nurses, though, which is why, even though i was one for 11 years, am not complaining about CNAs being left off of the site. If a site is called "discover nursing", then it should cover all aspects of nursing. If it were called "discover registered nursing", that would be a different story.
(I sent an email to J and J, it used to include PNs when the site was first launched. If i don't get a cookie-cutter kind of reply, i'll post what they say)

I am currently awaiting the tremendous oppurtunity to take on such a demanding program (RN program in Texas) and will hopefully come out on the other side whole:chuckle . My beautiful wife is an RN and I am so proud to be married to such a caring person and will hopefully join the ranks of the RN in 2yrs. I have been in school for a little over a year now (pre-reqs) and have such a high respect for RN's because of the price they have paid....(1-2yrs of pre-reqs and then 2 more years of nursing school). God Bless you RN's....you have an amazing calling and such an awesome responsibility!!!:)
Didn't say they were spitefully leaving LPNs out, but if a site is going t be devoted to "nursing", then that should include all of them. Had it been labeled as "Discover RNs", like i said, that's different.
I agree with you Marie_LPN.

What I dont like about this and other websites like it is that they make it seem soooo easy to get into a nursing school. Here in the SF bay area all the schools, ADN and BSN alike, are impacted like crazy. I have a great GPA and am still going to apply to 3 different school for next fall and pray like crazy that I get in. I did not see any info on that on their websites.
