You should be able to purchase a new card from the same place where you took your class.I only laminated it because I assumed that I would have to keep it with me at all times while at clinicals...
Staples laminated it for a dollar!
Hmmm.... only a dollar? I guess that's worth it, but every time it gets renewed, you get a new one. I never touch mine after it gets put into my wallet, only to replace it. I'm thinking I should get my social security card laminated since you only get one and it's supposed to last forever. Thanks for the idea.
I couldn't find my SS card if you paid me.
I couldn't, either, until I had to get a new one when changing jobs.
My filing system is the world's worst, bar none. I finally surrendered and bought a fire-resistant case to keep my SS card, passport, nursing licenses, CPR card. All in one place, and reasonably secure.
Now I can find that stuff, but nothing else................

My husband makes fun of my filing system but I don't understand why. At least I know where everything is. It's my organized mess, and I'm proud of it. We also got the fire-resistant case for the birth and marriage certificates, SS cards, etc. I even have a file with my name on it, just for certain random items that don't have a home.
I appreciate everyone's responses. Sounds like you don't have to show it to enough people for it to ever be a problem. If anybody every needs to make sure it is me they can just cross check it with my drivers license. I am not broke, I just don't want to waste, $10, or a stamp for that matter.

Do you think this will present a problem for me? Does anybody ever actually check to see that you signed your card? I can easily order a new one for $10 but I would like to avoid that if possible.
