Hi everyone! Did anyone get their acceptance to the Nursing Program at CSU East Bay Hayward? I heard they send e-mail at the end of the March 2009 for the Fall program, if you got accepted, but I did not get anything from them yet.... Does it mean that they rejected me? Thank you in advance.
This is a portion of the letter, the rest just states deadlines and requirments. I had to read it twice, at first I thought it was just for general education, as I planned to attend CSUEB regardless to get my BS. What did yours say??
Congratulations! On behalf of the Department of Nursing and Health Sciences, we are pleased to offer you conditional admission to the Fall 2009 Clinical Pre-Licensure Nursing Program at CSU East Bay . This offer is being made based on your TEAS score and an evaluation of your success with completed prerequisites. To finalize your admission, please meet the following conditions, which apply only to this year’s admission cycle:
Congrats!! No I don't think anything is wrong your application was accepted but I think they want to make sure students complete the registration process for the school, such as signing the Intent to Register form and completing other requirments.
Is this your school of choice? Which campus do plan on attending.
I was hoping to get into LMC, only because it so much cheaper, but I can't wait any longer. This was my fourth year applying to LMC and my first to CSU.
i just got accepted to the east bay nursing program and i am actually trying to decide as well whether to request to go to concord or hayward. is anyone attending one of these schools who can tell me something about them?
it seems like hayward is in a neighborhood that is not very safe but the school is very large. it also seems like it has a much more diverse campus and a lot more going on in terms of more resources on campus for students. but i also read that the school is a commuter school and the people who attend hayward don't really live in hayward.
concord on the other hand seems to be in a very good neighborhood and does not seem to be a commuter school but it is very small. i would be afraid i would have a hard time meeting people since the student population is so small.

Congratulations!
I think the campus you decide on depends on what kind of experience you want. Being an older student, I won't be living on campus and am not concerned with getting the whole "college experience", so a commuter environment is fine with me. My concern with the Concord program is that it includes a summer session (the Hayward program does not), and I'd rather have the summer off. I'm also looking for a diverse student population, which I think Hayward will provide. I can't really speak to the safety of the neighborhoods at either campus, since I'm not familiar with them (I've only been to each location once). I believe Concord is safe, but the campus seemed rather remote and far away from everything. Although Hayward isn't much to look at, the campus area itself seemed nice/safe enough and it seemed to have more resources.
It would be nice to hear from current students. I wonder if there is a forum for that.
Let me know what you decide!
I think of going to Hayward only because I find it close to my house.Other than that i have no idea, which campus is better.
P.S I have a question, maybe someone can answer it for me please? I got my acceptance to CSUEB, nursing, but still have some classes in progress, and also need to take 2 gen ed classes as well. In condition 2 it says I am not supposed to lower my current GPA, but I think that I will get a B in one of my classes. And I was thinking to take my gen ed classes during the Summer, do you think it is going to affect my conditional status?
Any answers are highly appreciated!
