Hi all! I've been a longtime lurker on this platform and finally decided to jump in and ask a question. In December, I will graduate with my degree in interpersonal communication. I was originally planning on going to law school, but changed my plans and decided to pursue an accelerated BSN.
If nursing is your second degree, what was your first degree in? Do you ever use the knowledge/skills from your prior degree? I am hoping that my knowledge from this degree will be helpful to me as a nurse, but I would love to hear about everyone else's experience.
I am very interested in eventually pursing my PhD in interpersonal communication because I find the field very interesting and like doing research, particularly qualitative research. Do you know of any other nurses who have masters/doctoral degrees in non-nursing, social science related fields?
Thank you so much for your responses!

I have 2 other masters degrees. Public health and computer science. Computer science was prior to nursing, public health after. No jobs where I'm located. Public health I completed for the future

AAS, emergency medical technologies (paramedic). Also a liberal arts AA. Then I earned my ASN before going back for a BSN. Two MSNs later, I am pretty much done. ?

BS in Biology between ADN and BSN. Am seriously considering a master's in leadership (non-nursing) to complement my MSN ED and DNP.
