Did CNO honor the NCLEX passers?

Published

It is said CNO will make decision and post it on its website. I did not see any infor. Any hints?

This is not the psychic hotline, posters here are as much on the dark as new nurses. It doesn't affect working nurses.

Yes cno is accepting nclex taken after 1982 as entry to practice. I called them and verified with them they should be updating the website on this matter

Specializes in Hospital nursing.

From the CNO's site:

"I have already written the NCLEX-RN and passed. Do I need to write it again?

On September 18, 2014, the Council of the College of Nurses of Ontario passed a motion to accept successful NCLEX-RN exam writes from the beginning of 1982 to the end of 2014.

If you are a current RN applicant who applied to the College before that date, and you can show the College you successfully wrote the NCLEX-RN within that timeframe, then you have met the examination requirement.

If you started your application to the College after Sept. 18, 2014, then you will have to successfully complete the NCLEX-RN to satisfy the examination requirement."

Could you post the web link showing this infor? I cannot find the info you gave.

If my reading is right, it looks like that, if you apply for registration with CNO today, and you already passed NCLEX last month, you still need to re-take NCLEX because you are not a "current applicant" back to Sept 18, 2014.

bingzhang204, the quoted information is from this and is about halfway down the page.

I got it. Thanks, NotReady4PrimeTime.

Next step is to ask the regulatory body in the US to formally inform my NCLEX result and registration status to CNO. Also need to prepare the provincial legal issue exam at $40 per try. ....
