Did anyone do the LPN to BSN at university of phoenix?

I am doing it now, graduation date is May 2013. Whole program cost $35,000. Yes that's a lot, but I am willing to pay for the LPN-BSN. I regret not doing it sooner. One of my coworkers did it, and encouraged me to do so, and I finally did.....3 years later. I have no other student loans other than these, and I pay the interest monthly, and get the full amount of Pell grant allotted. Most of the new BSN's I work with that went through the local university for 4 years paid 40-50K for their 4 year BSN. UoPx LPN-BSN is 2 years. I haven't sat down and subtracted the Pell from the overall cost, so I can't give you an exact answer, just the estimate.

So far, I like it. All assignments are posted online and you learn a lot from your learning team because you work together. Everyone brings a unique take on things and different work backgrounds. I am done with my M/S rotation and almost done with my psych rotation.

I would check into your local state university first and then local private univerties because any online for profit university such as the University of Phoenix is very very very expensive. The for profit institutions are known for leaving students with a lot of debt and have low graduation rates. They prey on working people and non traditional students who are fearful of returning to school. In the end, they care about getting your money more than anything else.

I agree to an extent. However, the cost of UoP here in CO and the cost of the public 4 year universities here turn out to be about the same. Waiting on the 4 year universities and getting in to a program at all is very, very hard. The students at UNC waiting to get into the program with a 4.0 aren't even getting in.....competition is very fierce and the waiting is forever. I was on the waiting list for the LPN-RN program at a local CC for 3 YEARS and got tired of waiting.

Half of the low graduation rates need to be blamed on the students, not just the school, too. You get out what you put in, whether you pay $10 or 10K.

I have no complaints with UoP in Denver. As with all schools, there are good and bad instructors, and students who expect to be given because they are paying. But you have to find the right fit for you and go with that. Yes, you get what you pay for, but like I said above, you also get out what you put in.

Clinicals are scheduled for you, homework is turned in online and you go to class one night a week.

I am finishing the LPN program here in Phoenix in May. Has anyone done the LPN to BSN program in Phoenix here? What about the test/final exam formats? Do you just go and do those in person since your classes are online and work is online? Is it all tests/quizzes only for the classes? That is how our LPN program is, we only get points for tests/quizzes and nothing else. What do you think of the program?

I don't think there is much difference between the program in Phoenix, or CO, or CA. You have to have 6 months experience as an LPN, and you have to attend classes. Call and ask an advisor to find out for sure.

Yeah, you have to attend classes. U of Phx nursing program is NOT online. You have to go to class once a week. The features of your class are all online in the sense that you submit your assignments online and you communicate through a student forum, but you have to physically attend class. Everything is done in learning teams, though. You will have a group of people in each course that you have to work with to complete assignments and presentations.

Hi there!...I am about to wrap up my LPN in June 2012....I am meeting with UOP next week....spoke with a rep for an hour before I made the appointment and she made no mention of needing 6 months working experience, simply your LPN License....It does give me reason to ask the question though...Thanks!

Oh yeah, I know when I entered I needed to have work experience within 6 months of my enrollment date at U of P or something to that degree. I was able to do all my registration paperwork but my start date would not get set until I was working as an LPN.

Ugh! I hate group projects. There's always that one person who hangs back and lets the rest of the group do 95% of the project. I don't like my grade tied to other people's work. I don't mind working in a team, I just don't like group projects in school.

Anyway, is it all group projects?
