I will be graduating in June with my BSN from Utah. I have family in McKinney Texas that will help me with a place to stay for a while so I can pay off my loans... So a few questions then. If I take my nclex in Utah will it be ok to work in Texas since tx is part of the compact? Also what can I expect for starting nurse wages in the Dfw area (McKinney area would be great but I can commute). Thanks in advance!
Applying prior to graduation/NCLEX is applicable to new grad programs within the local hospital systems. If you want a job at an acute care hospital in this area as a new nurse, a new grad program is the only way in.Does this "apply before NCLEX" work for all jobs or just new grad residencies??
You can wait until you've passed NCLEX to apply for other non-hospital opportunities such as nursing homes, hospice, home health, private duty, clinics, psych, jails, federal prisons, schools, etc.

This is incorrect for DFW. All the new grad hiring happens before graduation and long before NCLEX. All job offers are contingency offers. If you wait until you take NCLEX you will miss the boat completely and have pretty much zero chance of getting a job here.
