Hello. I have been a reader of this website and I can pretty much say that I like the warmth and support that people here give each other. I am depressed and frustrated because until now my name has not been posted in the CA BRN website. I probably failed Nclex. I am feeling so bad because I feel dumb that I wasn't able to pass the exam when all i did was study and study each and every day straight, setting aside all the important stuff, happenings in my life and in my family. I took my exam last week Wed. before the holiday. My friend's cousin took his last Friday and his name showed up in the BRN website. how could it be possible for his name to show with just one business day, not counting the 16th which was a holiday. I am such a failure
Is there a way I could find out because the wait is just making me more depressed and Im starting to lose hope that I will be passing the exam.
It's now exactly one week and a day and still my name hasnt showed up in the CA BRN website! Im really losing hope waiting Suzanne, i have a question? How come other people who have taken the exam at the same day or even a day or two after your exam gets to see their name posted sooner? Should i be worry about this? Thats why im already suspecting that maybe i didnt make it! And does the brn keep the file at their desks even if its complete? I also didnt know they go by alphabetically! Thanks...
I have an additional rant. I understand what you're feeling Pauween. You've been waiting 1 week, I've been waiting THREE!!! I've called them after 2 weeks, the person told me "just wait for your mail". I know my file is complete also. 1, 2, 3, 7 days go by. Check the mail, NOTHING. So I give them a call back. This time i'm transferred to someone and I leave them a message on their machine. So what am I doing now...waiting some more
Even though a lot of my classmates have gotten results in 2-3 days (and passing) then why is it taking so much longer. Honestly, after 21 days i'm okay with failure, but tell me so I can prepare for the next step already.
So, you just have to keep waiting. You are at the mercy of the BRN and theres nothing more you can do about it really, but you are not alone.
I just took the test today and stopped at 75. Literally, I felt like throwing up on my computer. I wasn't sure if 75 questions was an enough gauge to make me a competent RN. My questions started hard and it was consistently hard up until the 30 somthings untill the computer spat out a pharmaco question that I was absolutely clueless about from that point on I dwindled between hard and easy questions and of course, it caught my weakness and it continued to spit out pharmaco questions. It was a nightmare! I could not believe that I spent 2 1/2 weeks studying consistently everday only to feel like such a failure. But anyhow, CA tends to have a lag on releasing the results or the latest licensed RNs. Some of my friends found out in 3 days and some took as long as 11 days. Best thing to do is to hang tight hope for the best because you won't know the actual answer until you receive the letter from the mail. Best of luck to us!

Average wait time for CA is actually ten days, it is not two or three. Remember that one must have a completed file before it will even be reviewed. Once a file is complete, meaning that transcripts are there, fingerprint report has been delivered to them, and your NCLEX results have been placed in your file is the only time that it will be reviewed. It does not sit on anyone desk. But remember the size of the state.
Also depends on your last name and where your file is in their stack of files.
Never, ever assume until you have actually received your results.

Once a file is complete, it then goes on to the desk of the reviewer. Depends on what your last name begins with as well as where on their desk that your file sits.
Never, ever assume anything.
Best of luck to you.
