  1. Congrats, Nursing59! The NCLEX is a real head trip, I took mine yesterday (2/19/09) I stopped at 75 questions but was not, even remotely, happy about it. I wanted the computer to keep going a little bit since I felt shaky on about a third of my answers. I probably sat in my car for about 45 minutes because I was so shaken by the test. Had lots of priority questions but the pharmaco ones that I had killed me. Anyhow, I guess I am replying to this thread to feel good about it and you're passing (Super Congrats!) gives me hope and takes my mind of defeatist thoughts. I wish you well in your career and may you be the best nurse that you aim for!
  2. Pretty_Nurse1028 I just took the bords yesterday. Boy was that a trip! Anyhoo, I meant to reply to the MONA part, the order by the way, must be O2 first (remember ABCs) then ASA 2nd followed by nitro and then MorphSulfate as this also takes care of anxiety. Remember OMI - oxygen, monitor (heart monitor) & IV (for rescusitation meds) If you haven't taken ACLS yet, the algorithms give a great overview of these things but MONA & OMI are good things to keep in mind. Hope this helps, good luck to you!
  3. I think it's absolutely charming. I just graduated from nursing school and it the white nurse outfit (ala Florence Nightingale look) was all I wore throughout the program. I did it pretty much out of humor, I figured nursing school was soooo stressful, I thought I'd take it easy and have a little fun and dress up like a traditional nurse. I was expecting the jabs and the taunts but much to my surprise most people thought it cute and it was great for conversation starters too. So I say, go for it, GoLytely!
  4. Thank you, Suzanne. That is comforting to know.
  5. I just took the test today and stopped at 75. Literally, I felt like throwing up on my computer. I wasn't sure if 75 questions was an enough gauge to make me a competent RN. My questions started hard and it was consistently hard up until the 30 somthings untill the computer spat out a pharmaco question that I was absolutely clueless about from that point on I dwindled between hard and easy questions and of course, it caught my weakness and it continued to spit out pharmaco questions. It was a nightmare! I could not believe that I spent 2 1/2 weeks studying consistently everday only to feel like such a failure. But anyhow, CA tends to have a lag on releasing the results or the latest licensed RNs. Some of my friends found out in 3 days and some took as long as 11 days. Best thing to do is to hang tight hope for the best because you won't know the actual answer until you receive the letter from the mail. Best of luck to us!
