Denver School of Nursing - October 2015 start date

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello, I applied for the october start date, 2015, at denver school of nursing. I wanted to start a thread for all the hopeful students for this start date. I thought it would be a good support system and ask questions about the school. A little bit about me, I have been an EMT for the last 3 years and I have volunteered my local fire department. I'm graduating this May with an Associated of Science in Biology, pretty much the requirements for the BSN programs with a GPA of 3.6. I really hope I get in, and good luck everyone.

Thanks for the info!! I fly over in a couple hours! I've never been to Denver, so it will be quite the adventure!

You're welcome and Denver is great, you will like it, btw feel free to add me on Facebook, my name is Kate Lumsden.

Feel free to add me on Facebook too. Kay-Leigh Tracy

Had my interview yesterday Kelly is great! I'm super excited to get the ball rolling. Now it HESI and financial aid that needs to be dealt with. Looking forward to meeting you all and being able to have study partners for nursing.

Ok, I tried adding you guys! (I'm Natasha Heiland) Super excited to move out to Denver! Literally have no idea where my boyfriend and I are going to live. Let the apartment hunt begin!! :nailbiting:

Back in CA today, but we absolutely loved Denver!

Are all of you BSN? I only signed up for the ADN October cohort. Sounds like I should have done the BSN. Oh well, I'll just take the bridge course when it comes to it.

Why are people coming from outside of Colorado to go to nursing school here?

Why not?! People move for school all the time! :cat:

Colorado doesn't have a wide variety of schools at affordable prices. Relocating to Florida, I could understand.

If you don't mind me asking how are the finances for renting a place working for those of you starting the program? I'm looking into moving out of my current situation and a bit nervous how to pay for living if DSN requires no one work well in school.

Cost of living loans if you have no support system. No other way. Denver rents are high due to lots of out of staters flooding in.

I just got emailed the schedule for quarter 1 today. I am in cohort C, but haven't figured out what lab group that I am in, does anyone know how to figure that out? I'm so excited to start!

We get lab group assignments at Orientation. So exciting!! I move on Saturday! Its going to be an interesting road trip with my cat... haha
