Post here and introduce yourself if you will be attending DSoN in the Fall of 08!!
Hi! My name is Amy and I will be starting the BSN program in Oct. I am from Southern California and will be moving to the Denver area with my boyfriend in Sept. I am definitely excited to meet new people and see a different part of the country. I think I would like to get into some type of cardiac or pediatric nursing but am still unsure. I would love to learn all about the area of Denver and the great spots for sightseeing, hiking, nightlife, etc.
I can't wait to meet y'all and am excited to be sharing this experience with you!

Hi Quang! What part of Denver will you be moving to? I'm going in July to look at places. What part of NorCal are you from?
Hi Amy
Right now I don't know the specific area yet, but I probably would look for the downtown Denver area because it is closed to school or 10-15 mins away from school. I'll travel to Denver in the summer to check out the place and buy a car. I'm a little bit excited and nervous, excited because I'm gonna be a nurse in 2 years, my dream will come true, nervous because this is the first time I move out. By the way, I'm from San Jose, Ca. How about you? Are you gonna rent a house there? What specific location are you looking for?

I'm from Orange County. At this point just looking for something affordable and close to the school. I'm bringing my truck with me but it seems like taking the light rail may be a good way to get to school. I will let you know what I find! :)
I think it's normal to be both excited and nervous. Not only are we starting nursing school, we're moving away from our comfort zones. It makes me feel better knowing I won't be the only new one to the area though.
anyone else starting this Fall?

Hello
I think i am gonna start this fall at DSN. I am from CO (denver metro area) but have living in NYC for the last 3yrs. If i end up going to the school i will be back in town in Aug. So, even though i won't be new to the state i kind of feel like i am starting over.

Hi everyone!
I'm not starting in Fall '08, but I'm interested in applying to the program. How was the application process? I'm from California, so I will have to plan a trip to Denver to check the school out.
[soooo tired of waiting to be accepted to an RN program in Cali]

Application process wasn't bad at all. Just fill out the app, turn in your transcripts and talk to an admissions director. I feel your pain with the waiting game here in So Cal, it's horrible!
Thanks. When did you turn in your application?
I'm waiting for a response from Mount St. Mary's in Los Angeles for their ADN fall program. I just can't be idle anymore, so I'm looking into other states.
Are we going to freeze our Cali butts off in Denver or what??

I turned in my app in late March/early April and heard by mid-late April. I know quite a few nurses who went to Mt. St. Marys and liked it.
And I know I'm gonna freeze my butt off!!!!!!!!!!
