Denver School of Nursing (DSN) July 2015 Start

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I'm curious as to whether any other prospective July 2015 DSN students have heard back from admissions yet...

I'm still waiting on them to cash my check, but I was in touch with a counselor about polishing up my package recently, so I know at least some progress is being.

At any rate, I'm interested in DSN b/c Nursing school is too damn expensive in California, even w/ the GI Bill >.

edit: And I'd also like to live in a place like Denver for college. Best part is if I like it I can stay in Colorado and not have to wait 6 months (which is the minimum wait in Cali for new licenses apparently!) for the state to issue me a license after my NCLEX.

i was rejected:( i called to ask why and Jeff told me he will recommend i should take CNA course to improve my chances of getting in for the october or january start. good luck to everyone that got accepted and please let me know how the program goes so far.

@nurseaddict, keep your head up you will get in next start dates. I took a CNA course at South Denver School of Nursing Arts, check them out the program is 4 weeks long and they are great. You will have time to complete everything by next start date. I originally enrolled in a CNA program at a community college it last from May till August in summer, so this may not be a good choice if you want to get in right away due to state boards also.

Thank you so much Jeff told me he will prefer that I do apply for January. I am going tomorrow to register for the CNA course here in new York n i hope to get a job and apply again. Thank you and good luck. Please let me know how the program goes.

Any alternates hear anything yet?!

@laumh no I haven't yet, I'm thinking we may hear something after the ones selected go through the whole process of HESI and financial aid.

I spoke with Jeff and he stated that it would be several more weeks before any alternates find out. It's so hard to wait, but keep your hopes up, he said last year almost everyone started at desired start date or the next one!

Well I just got the "100% approved for the program letter" yesterday in the mail, so I think people should be hearing back very soon if they haven't already...

I have not heard back yet. Thank you for the update. From other posts, they heard back between now and the 22nd of the month. Crossing my fingers

Hello all! I am currently a student at DSN. Approx 60 people get accepted each round. Everyone is divided up into two cohorts- so A and B. And there is around 30ish in each. Keep your heads up! You will get in eventually. I was rejected my first time too! But really glad that I was now looking back. I was not as ready!

Hi everyone has anyone on the alternate list heard back yet, or got accept it? I'm starting to get a bit nervous, I hope that everyone on the alternate list at least gets an opportunity to attend Denver School of Nursing.

Hey Crystal, I just had my interview today, so interviews are still in progress. I bet you will hear as soon as everyone is done with their interviews and testing. I am sure that they will contact you within the next month. They are very nice and seem to be very interested in working with students and helpingthem succeed. If you don't get in this round, I would think you'd have a great chance at the October cohort. Good luck!

I have not yet heard anything. From a response email earlier in the month, they stated we would know by the end of April. I feel it is getting a bit late... hopefully they will still be needing alternates. Im also curious if any have been called to move forward. I guess the only thing we can do is just wait... and hope we get in.
