Denver School of Nursing (DSN) July 2015 Start

Published

I'm curious as to whether any other prospective July 2015 DSN students have heard back from admissions yet...

I'm still waiting on them to cash my check, but I was in touch with a counselor about polishing up my package recently, so I know at least some progress is being.

At any rate, I'm interested in DSN b/c Nursing school is too damn expensive in California, even w/ the GI Bill >.

edit: And I'd also like to live in a place like Denver for college. Best part is if I like it I can stay in Colorado and not have to wait 6 months (which is the minimum wait in Cali for new licenses apparently!) for the state to issue me a license after my NCLEX.

That's an encouraging stat! Thanks for sharing. Makes me feel a little better... Juts trying to stay positive!

Thanks for all of the information! And yes that statistic is encouraging! I really hope I'm a part of that 90%! I too got the same information from Jeff, hoping we hear back before May :)

They seem to really be rushing people accepted for an interview to commit to an interview date... I think they're trying to weed out the applicants not likely to attend ASAP. Hopefully you guys hear soon!

Does anyone know how many people are accepted initially to the interview? I talked to Rachael with DSN and she said a majority of the alternates get accepted to the rest of the application process. I was wondering if anyone knew when the alternates start to hear if they are accepted or not. I have a micro test today and studying has been hard to say the least after I heard I was an alternate. :(

Stay positive :) I am sure you guys will get in eventually! An alternate spot is not a rejection at all. My grades were alright. I have taken some high level sciences (most were 400-600 level) so I think that while I don't have a 4.0, that was considered. I think my volunteer experience was a big help for me. I have a lot of it involving direct patient care. I don't have my CNA, but I know they like to see patient care in some aspect. So CNA people, that is great you have it! I've seen a lot of people wait and get accepted as alternates, so be positive, and maybe ask Jeff Johnson what you can do to better your applications. Good luck to all! :)

@KJAMontana I also got put on the alternate list, my email stated I would hear back no later then May 29th and be considered for October start date. It was definitely sad news yesterday, so I hope the ones on alternate list get considered next round. (Congrats to those who got the interview )

Called; I didn't get in or alternate =[

My gpa is 3.6, I have a previous bachelor's degree and my CNA license but I just got the license so no work experience yet. Also 2 courses in progress if thats relevant. Sad panda =[

She told me to work on volunteer experience or a job in health care and apply for october but I have to renew my lease for a year in June so I can't move in October. Can't pay two leases at once.

Does anyone know how many students are excepted each start date? Also how likely are you to get in on the alternate list?

Like many of you I also got put on the alternate list. Very disappointing but it's good to hear that there's still a chance this time. Congrats to everyone who got in and good luck on your interviews!

Hello guys is this for the July start? I haven't heard any yet what should I do. Thank you

I'm sorry you haven't heard yet. I would try giving them a call on Monday. Good luck!

Thank you Cms2015. I spoke with Mr Johnson on monday and he told me if I would like to retake algebra I told him I took pre. cal. So they accepted it and he sent me a mail saying that they admission dep. have accepted my pre calculus and I should not worry about retaking algebra And I should wait for this week to hear back from them but nothing and I'm freaking out. My heart rate is almost close to 99lol.
