Denver College of Nursing July 2020

Hi guys,

I was wondering if anybody else has applied for this cohort and can't wait until February to hear back! I know applications have only been open for a few days so I might be just a tad early on opening this forum...lol. Anyway, feel free to chat back! I'd love to make new friends as I will be new to the area!

I was notified I was outright denied. Grades are on par, and over 2 years of medical experience. Anyone who got accepted willing to mention their grades/how much experience they have?

I got denied too. Thankfully I have already set my sights on somewhere else than DCN

I got selected as an alternate and I have no idea why. Awesome grades. Tons of experience too. Super bummed

I got denied as well. 8 years experience. I think it is because I still have a few pre-reqs that will be done at the end of this semester.... BUT I would LOVE to hear from everyone else that got denied, put on the alternate list or accepted what your experience is, GPA, classes you may still be missing, etc.

I have above average grades, almost 8 years hospital experience and got selected as an alternate.. not sure what they were looking for.

Hi guys. I am sorry it took so long to reply. I was chosen for an interview with DCN. I've been a cna since 2016 and have been working as a cna for denver health float pool for over two years. I also volunteered at a local hospital for six months. My grades arent terrible, but also not above average either. I applied with a 3.1. I can tell you for one that I pouted my heart and soul into the essay . I have heard from a coworker and current bsn student at DCN that her friend applied and got denied. She redid her essay and reapplied and got in. Dont give up!

Hi, everyone. I was accepted a few weeks ago. I have a 4.0 in my prerequisite GPA and a 4.0 from my earned 4 year degree. I also have 2 years of CNA experience. I am not too thrilled with the $56,000 price tag for this program. I most likely will be going to Arapahoe or Front Range for an ADN.
