Denver College of Nursing July 2020

Published

Hi guys,

I was wondering if anybody else has applied for this cohort and can't wait until February to hear back! I know applications have only been open for a few days so I might be just a tad early on opening this forum...lol. Anyway, feel free to chat back! I'd love to make new friends as I will be new to the area!

Hopefully it’s an email and not a letter

Is anyone worried about how they are paying for school? I only have so much left that I can borrow through sub and unsub loans and the Pell only goes so far. Are you looking at private loans? Savings? Etc...

Is anyone in Northern Colorado that applied???

I’m in Loveland. It’s a big drive to do all the time but I think their program would be the best fit for me and my family.

Presleyhasherfingercrossed- I am in Johnstown! Maybe if I get in we can carpool???

@Eawood that would be great!

Hey everyone!! One more week. How is everyone feeling??

Hey guys! I was just wondering if anyone had heard about the entrance exam that we have to take if we get an interview... is it like a personality type test or is like a real test with math and science? I’m so excited to hear back!

Allie

Hi Ali. The entrance exam is called the hesi a2. It covers English comp and reading as well as math. Hope this helps!

Hi Tiyana! I already have a non nursing bachelors so I do not have to take the Hesi, but I had thought there was another test specifically for DCN that you take when you go to do the interview. Am I wrong?

Oh, that makes sense! I honestly have no idea about a personality test. Though, it is possible. I am sure we will have more information soon.

It’s just the hesi. If you have already taken it I’m the last year or you have a bachelors you don’t have to take it. There isn’t another test. I heard the interview is more of an orientation and going over/scheduling the hesi if you do need to take it. 1 more week!

I got selected as an alternate and I have no idea why. Awesome grades. Tons of experience too. Super bummed
