I graduated BSN in the Philippines 2007 After taking the exam 2x they re-evaluate my application and found out that i did not qualify to take the exam. I found out that my cases did not meet there requirements.

1st question: Do you think i can still be eligible to apply to another state like florida?

2nd question: Can i apply for LVN?

Please. Any advice????

Thanks.

Hi proudpinay, just knda wondering i belive you are a product of world citi collge in the Philippines, i am also looking forward to aply in that school to get my BSN i am currently working as an lpn/lvn here in Texas any suggestions? thanks

Sad to hear these

Hi, I'm new here. I had same problems too about California RN eligibility. I'm trying to apply for LVN, can you share how you did your application? I read that the BRN can transfer documents to LVN, is that true?

did anyone tried endorsing their RN license for RN in Ca and got denied, then tried applying for LVN??? IF you're already an RN in other states and wish to transfer to CA, will you still need to take the LVN exam? It's just so frustrating that even though you're already an RN in other states, you still need to step down and grab the LVN license instead just because of the new concurrency issue.=(

It's not a new concurrency rule, it's been in the CA BON policy since 1952, they are merely enforcing the rules since 2011 and thus only a handful of PH grads and nurses have been ever granted either the ATT or the endorsement approval.

Here's a good read on that and what happened, CLICK: https://allnurses.com/nurse-registration/who-blame-ca-682278.html

It's also the same thing for about 13-14 states with the same concurrency regulations and no, it's not discrimination (as these rules have been in their books for decades), we got blind-sided in thinking the CHED had our best interest but in the end, we're all suffering from trying to get licensed into some of the more preferred states, with CA leading the way.

hi I think even if your licensed in other state once you endorse it in California we will still face the same issue because they will still ask for the same requirements like the copy of clinical cases, etc.so for some who really wants to stay in California they take the LVN exam, and once they pass they can now work and save money while waiting for schools that will accept the deficiencies.

I have a friend who took the NCLEX-RN in Illinois and working as a nurse there for almost 2 yrs.now, she tried to endorse her license and got denied.Good thing is that she also have relatives in Illinois, but still wanting to work here in Cali because she said she liked the weather here.:)

Yep, you're so right. We have other friends or batchmate's friends trying to endorse from FL and NY, some with more than 2 years of RN experience in those states and still unable to get to the other side after getting their love letter of denial from the CA BON.

is there any one who graduate at World citi college in the philippines as BSN and now currently working here in Texas as an RN? did you encounter any problem getting your lic. , i am looking forward going to that school pls. help, any advice is very much appreciated thanks and God bless...

If you RN in other state sad to say you cant endorse your license here in CA as long you meet the requirements you can endorse it.

In the other hand if you want to work as LVN. Ofcourse you have take LVN exam here in CA.

RN license in other state is different in LVN license here in CA and also to other state.

Specializes in Vents, Telemetry, Home Care, Home infusion.

Each Board of Nursing has specific requirements that must be met. There are now nine states that are enforcing concurrency regulations:

Classroom education for nursing courses needs to have clinical experiences occurring during same semester.

Requirements for LPN education and RN are different--- only about 1/3 of BON will allow RN graduates to take LPN license exam California is one of them. Since budget cuts in Calif. and elsewhere, staff to process applications decreased. There are two boards in CA: 1 for RN's, another 1 for LPN and Psych technicians. AN members reporting about 3 wait for credential review and ATI approval.
