I am wondering, what is the hottest demand for nursing. What is the most lucrative, which can you be your own boss, which is the best investment for opening your own business, which nursing care is most needed in the community.

If you have the start-up capital and a consultant to guide you, open up a freestanding dialysis center. With the masses of people who suffer from end stage renal disease, in all likelihood you'll never go out of business.

Are you a nursing student? If so, you should focus on getting through school and passing the NCLEX. THEN you can think about what the "hottest" option is for you.

True ... however, payment for dialysis services is almost always through Medicare, and brings with it all of the squeezes to reimbursement payment and regulatory headaches that come with that primary payor source.
In suburban and exurban areas of the country -- several chains of urgent care centers are flourishing. Management of concierge medical practices do quite well also.
