I have allowed my nurses license to expire past the date on my card. Am I still allowed to practice. The board allows up to 4 years to pay before I have to start all over again as a new student and retaking the boards.
My concern is I haven't worked since getting my license renewed in 2011 and now it expired in 2013. There are a few home health agency opportunities that are hiring but my license is deliquent for paying fees. Can I still work?

If you have not renewed your license it is inactive and you cannot work as a nurse without an active license.
You can take a non nursing job until you pay the renewal & delinquency fees to the BoN the longer you wait the higher the fees though
thanks for commenting so quickly. I had tried to call the board but the phone line is a 20 minute wait or more. xoxo
happy holidays to you. I need to get started right away. I love nursing!!! don't want to lose my license.

Waste no time renewing! You don't want to have to take the exam over for a new license!

You need to not work until you get your licensed renewed as technically you are no longer a licensed nurse.
