Delaware Technical Community College Ranking Points

Published

Hi, Anyone out there applying to the Delaware Tech nursing program this spring or fall? or anyone currently in the nursing program already? What are/were your total points?

I am just about finished all the prerequisites and plan to apply in the fall 2017. Currently I have accumulated 10 points but I haven't taken the NLN yet. Just trying to figure out what I need to score on the NLN in order to get into the program.

Hey! I am also planning to apply Aug 15 for next January. I figured I'd make an account and comment because this is the most recent post I've seen about Deltech. I took the NLN, and still am taking Math129 and Anatomy I. I did really well on the NLN, 97th percentile, I figure that'll really help me out and I'm doing pretty well in my classes too so far. What did you get in your classes? Did you take the HLH course yet?

Hey guys,

I am also applying this fall.

I got a B in A&P 1 from another college and I unfortunately scored in the 74th percentile for the NLN:( , then 2 points for being a delaware resident. So far I have 9 points. I am finishing up the math course and I am hoping to get an A. I just feel like 13/16 points will not be competitive enough to even be considered. I haven't seen any other recent posts about DTCC program on here to even try and figure out the usual cutoffs.

Hey there, been looking for recent posts and found yours. I have applied for the Aug deadline and I too didn't do as well on the NLN getting only 4 pts. I got an A in AP1 and a B in Math129 which gives 3pts (4 pts away from getting an A in it btw) so I have a total of 13 pts as well. I was expecting to have 14 pts total, which I was told by an advisor that would be a comfortable ranking - but not sure about the 13, worried it isn't competitive enough.

Hi! I just finished the math course and I earned an A. So you and I both have 13 / 16 points. I just wish we didn't have to wait 6 months to take the NLN again. I was thinking about maybe applying to the practical nursing program in Dover, Delaware since it is just a year. Then do the RN which is an additional 2 semesters. So I think the time frame would be exactly the same. I will most likely make an apt with my advisor to figure everything out. But fingers crossed! I hope we both make it :)

That's an idea - I actually have a friend who completed the PN and working in the field. He reapplied to the program and starts in Jan for his RN. I've been so down, feeling the same way - wishing I could re-take the NLN knowing now what to expect. And I was debating setting up an appt with my advisor - just wasn't sure what could possibly be said at this point. We just have to wait and see, hoping the 13 pts is enough! I did hear a rumor from my summer instructor that the 'in' pts right now is 12. Don't know if that's accurate information though. Let's hope so! Good luck and post if you find out!

13 points to get into Del Tech is more than possible- some semesters if you have 12 points you can get accepted. I am applying for the Aug. 15th deadline for January admission. I have 13 points as well and just missed making it last semester with 12 points due to the large number of applicants with 16 points. Good luck everyone!!

Which campus are you applying to?

Oh darn! You were so close last time!! Good luck to you also !!! I applied to the Stanton campus :)

Dmb125 Good luck to you too and maybe we'll have clinicals together. :)

DaniB77, that is good to hear confirmation that 13 points is not impossible. (But that worries me a little that last time there were a lot of applicants that had the full 16!) Most of those I spoke with in my spring and summer classes said they were looking at 12-13 points - some were only expecting 9 or 11. So positive thinking, right? I too am at Stanton, if we make it - look for the older one in the group lol. This has been a dream/desire of mine for a long, long time but had to put it off for family and finances. Hence my user name: Got 2 be RN - it will happen! Best of luck to you!

Hey I applied to the Dover campus for Jan 18. I got in with 13/16 points. I really wanted to take my NLN over, but I decided to go for it and apply! Wishing you all the best.

LOL I'm no spring chicken myself Got2B- I'll be 40 in about a month. I have friends from my A&P classes that started clinicals this semester who are in their late 40's/50's so we'll all be great together! I was in the same boat, putting it off several times due to my kids, finances, family stuff, etc. I said I'm doing it for me now and nothing is going to stop me!
