I recently completed my BSN degree from ISU, and was excited to receive it in the mail, however, upon opening the package, I found that the degree only had "Bachelor of Science" printed on it with no mention of nursing or the department of nursing.
I thought this was a bit odd since a have three other degrees that lists the respective majors, however, these are from different universities. I could say my degree is in Chemistry (although I would not do this), but I do not have the same satisfying feeling about my BSN degree as I do with the other degrees. The school told me to use my transcript to show the degree conferred. Why should a student have to go through all of this?
For those of you with BSN degrees, can you tell me if your degree lists your nursing major on it?

My ADN states "Registered Nursing" my BS states "Bachelor of Science Community Health Education". Yanno, when the BS came in the Mail, it only had Bachelor of Science. I called the registar's office to see if this was correct, she said no, I sent it back, and the corrected one came back. I would call the school.
LOL, I looked mine up because I wasn't sure. Most of the thing is in Latin, but right there in the middle is "Bachelor of Science in Nursing" I guess it shows how much it mattered that I had to look it up a couple of years after graduating. Poster above said it best: No one cares what the diploma says, employers care about licensure, job experience, references, and transcripts.
Edit:
Rereading above: I guess some employers may ask for a diploma, I've never experienced it though.
Most employers ask for an official transcript. I did not show my employer my degree. They asked for a official transcript .
I've always had just the opposite, show the degree, and no request for a transcript. I do have a certified letter with the school's seal that states I've completed the program. I was just curious to see what others have experienced. Thank you!

I did this, and the lady told me that is how they are printed.
I just checked my email, and the school confirmed that only the type of degree is printed on the diploma and not the major. Thanks for responding.
