Declaratory order to Texas BON

Has anyone submitted their declaratory order to Texas? I am getting very anxious as I submitted mine and it's been 3 months with no response. I know the process says 3-6 months, but I know some people who received responses in less than a month. I am just wanting to hear from someone else who had to wait also so I will not feel like there is necessarily something wrong. Thanks.

Welp, after much unnecessary worry I got a blue card in the mail, and then the DO letter saying that I'm clear about 2 weeks after that. So, from the time I sent everything off it took three weeks to get the blue card, and 5 weeks to get the DO letter. I wasn't supposed to get the blue card, but I guess that means that nothing showed up on my background check, and then they reviewed my paperwork and thought that everything was fine.

Same thing happened to me. I filed declaratory order and got a letter saying that it's ok and then 2 weeks after that got my blue card.

Did you file declaratory order because you are graduating soon or cause you are applying to school?

Also does this mean that when we finally apply to sit for nclex, that we will able to sit and have a license without any stipulations correct??

I know this is an old thread but do you need to file a declaratory order for a once suspended drivers license?

Sorry to bug you guys but I have a misdemeanor PI that was dismissed. After the arrest I applied to the Texas State Board of Pharmacy and was granted a license with no issue.

Do you think I should still submit a DO to the BON if the BOP granted me a license without issue?

Would you mind telling us what your charges and disposition were?

Why did you offer to help with statement letter and then backtrack once you were through? Never heard of helping the next in line? What goes around comes around.

Im due to start school in January (Lvb) program. I have a traffic ticket that turned into a warrant and I just found out I was issued a ticket after I moved out of a house for failure to cut grass. That ticket is also in warrant status. I mad about the last ticket because I was moved a whole month before that ticket was issued. I've never been arrested or fingerprinted. Will the BON still see the warrants even if I haven't been arrested? Should I just pay the fines?

Hi everyone just wanted to post and say thank you to all of the folks that posted info in reference to the Declaratory Order process. This process seemed so discouraging at first but after reading what seemed like hundreds of post from this board I got on my journey. I still had questions however on the process a bit so I wanted to post my experience and what I learned. I applied to nursing school in Sept 2016, there was an informal meeting on whats required to get in program, I was advised if you had ever been arrested are convicted of a misdemeanor that you had to submit this " Declaratory Order" to the board and get approval to even start nursing school. The lady giving the orientation said a DO can take 3-6 months are more. I was immediatly discouraged. I knew I had been arrested for unpaid traffic fines that had turned into warrants back in 1999 and I had a disorderly conduct and a bad check( less than $50) from 1998. All these offenses had been taken care of but it was the idea of tracking down the right jurisdictions and getting the paper work. It took me 4 days and a few trips to the municipal courts. So I had finally gotten all the paperwork and I typed a letter as to what had happen, but that is where everything kinda stopped, because the DO paperwork says they need your fingerprints along with your DO paperwork to start review, I called the school and they said to wait until November , and if i was sent an acceptance letter then instructions would be in there to go get the fingerprints done. I called the board and was told by 1 person to wait but then i got a very nice lady that said don't wait send in your DO paperwork and within 10 days of receipt of the paperwork then a file will be created and that will give authorization for fingerprints to be done. so I mailed my paperwork next day mail to BON at the end of Sept and after about 2 weeks I called to check if they had my info and I was told yes then lady said to go online and follow link to schedule print scan. After print scan was done i waited another 2 weeks to check to see if prints had came back in and lady that answered said they had but they didn't automatically attach to my file so she sent something over to attach it?? she then told me it will take 30 days for initial review. But now its mid Nov and Im scared I won't have my approval back in time for nursing school....I prayed on it and started to relax about the issue but I checked the mail and I have recvd the letter saying ok to enter prog but within 90-120 days before graduation I have to submit a paper application for approval to take NCLEX for licensure.

What a relief!!. If you are like me and need to submit the Declaratory Order please do it EARLY!!!!!!

Hi everyone. So just to clarify, if I had a couple of misdemeanors from my record sealed/expunged would I still need to file a DO?

On the Declaratory paperwork from the BON website it looks like they still want you to self disclose the info. I got this from the DO paperwork

NOTE: Expunged and Sealed Offenses: While expunged or sealed offenses, arrests, tickets, or citations need not be disclosed, itis your responsibility to ensure the offense, arrest, ticket or citation has, in fact, been expunged or sealed. It is recommended that yousubmit a copy of the Court Order expunging or sealing the record in question to our office with your application. Failure to reveal an offense, arrest, ticket, or citation that is not in fact expunged or sealed may subject your license to a disciplinary order and fine. Non-disclosure ofrelevant offenses raises questions related to truthfulness and character. (See 22 TAC §213.27)

Hello fellow rn students and pre-rn students. I submitted my declaratory order June 24th and was told that my application is being reviewed by the Director of Operations. If it's not approved then it goes to investigations. I have a discharged class C misdemeanor of assault (I was taken to the ER b/c I dissociated/I have PTSD/ Staff in the waiting room called security/ I thought the security guard was a man that assaulted me in college;again I had dissociated) and the case was dropped immediately.

However, in May I received a PI for getting in an argument with a girl that followed me home (after she punched me and I walked away from the scene). The PI will be expunged in Sept.

My question is,

1. How long does it take for the director of operations to review cases and what type of cases does he/she approve?

2. How long does it take for investigations to review and make a decision?

3. Has anyone been in a similar circumstance as me? Not necessarily ptsd related but mental health related? Additionally what was the out come of your case?

Thank you for your feedback. I've been disheartened over this after spending 2.5 years completing pre-reqs. I'm hoping to start nursing school in January but nervous a decision will not be made by then.
