So, I finally feel I should not give up......I will be a retaker for 2nd time in December. I felt so low when I failed the test in July'07. I was thinking to take in october but just couldnt get motivated to study. In the meantime, I joined RN-BSN program. So, currently I am in school taking 15 credits of classes. I need to have my RN license before winter so I can do practical in communnity health, a required class for BSN.
After visiting this site almost everyday, reading success stories and encouragement given by one of my wonderful instructor from my ASN program, I am motivated to do it.
So, newcomers as well as retakers, Lets get together, support each other and lets pass the RN test. WE CAN DO IT.
For now, I have started practicing Q&A at least 2 hrs/day from Saunders CD. I will keep you updating and hope you all will share the tips as well.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF US. :welcome: TO THE SUPPORT GROUP .

Wizard,
I was trying to organize my thoughts since I am still in total disbelief of the fact that I passed. Here is what I did this time:
I studied Saunders for contents, did the first tip of Suzanne's plan. I made a little change that is even though I got 75% on the quiz, I still go back to read the chapter. I jog down those pyramid points and things I don't know in a notebook and review it when I have time. At the same time, I do the questions from Saunder's Cd. If I get a lower score on a particular area, I would find some more questions from Saunder's Q&A Cd or Mosby's. After I finish doing questions, that was three weeks from my test date. I read Kaplan strategies book for a week, did the practice questions that come with the book and the cd, went over those strategies over and over. I spend my second week for Kaplan Qtrainer 1-5 and review the rationales over and over. The last week I did Kaplan Qtrainer 6-7 and priority and delegation book.
From all of these books, I like the saunders best, it gives you solid knowledge base. But if you want to practice more critical thinking questions, I think Kaplan is the best. The difficulty level of the questions from Kaplan is so similar to the NCLEX. So when I was taking my test, I felt like doing one of the Qtrainer. I suggest after you do the saunders then do the kaplan. I remember one of the post in this forum, somebody give a link to download Kaplan Qtrainer for free, but I didn't have that web address bookmarked. Maybe you can try by search in the forum to see if it's still valid. It's a old post, 2 or 3 years before.
The PDA (priority and delegation) book is very helpful for my test since majority of the questions are this type. I highly recommend this book, you can get it from bookstore or amazon.
I spend two and half months, studied 6 hours average everyday with lots of praying too. Just study hard and pray hard.
I changed my date to Dec. 26. I was stressing really hard and felt that two more weeks would help.Congrats to those who passed! :balloons:
omg, i am feeling the same...... mine is on 21st, the more closer it comes the more anxious i am. i am thinking too...... i dont know what to do. i want to pass this time and end the chapter of nclex.
Shara_su ...way to go !! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! GOD BLESS YOU IN ALL YOUR FUTURE ENDEAVOURS!!!:balloons::biggringi:Melody::Melody:HAVE A VERY MERRY XMAS!!
To all December Test Takers Support Group, thanks a lot for your prayers and words of encouragement!:balloons:I passed NCLEX-RN with 75 questions on my 1st try last Dec. 4..:balloons:
To God be the Glory!
This was my NCLEX experience, i had 10-12 SATA (so many!), priority and delegation, some meds.. I finished the exam in 2 hrs and 15 mins. when the computer stopped at 75, i thought God has indeed answered my prayers. i answered every item very carefully and read the questions a couple of times to make sure i understood it correctly. One thing that help me get through the exam was maintaning my composure. i have always prayed to God to help me keep my cool when i encounter difficult questions and seemingly confusing options. i offered my exam to HIM, and believed that my hard work will be paid off..and it really did.
after 62hrs (not 48), quick results delivered my status and it stated that i passed! i am so happy.. a very wonderful Christmas gift to myself!
To all my fellow december test takers, continue to study and master the art of answering practice questions. add constant prayers with it. that is the perfect formula for beating the NCLEX! i wish u all the grace of knowledge and wisdom! believe in yourself! God bless all of you!

Only you know how ready you are. Part of me wanted to just take it and get it over with but I didn't want to look back and wish I had rescheduled. It's a lot easier to change the date then it is to reapply to take the test. Cheaper too!
