December Test Takers Support Group

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

So, I finally feel I should not give up......I will be a retaker for 2nd time in December. I felt so low when I failed the test in July'07. I was thinking to take in october but just couldnt get motivated to study. In the meantime, I joined RN-BSN program. So, currently I am in school taking 15 credits of classes. I need to have my RN license before winter so I can do practical in communnity health, a required class for BSN.

After visiting this site almost everyday, reading success stories and encouragement given by one of my wonderful instructor from my ASN program, I am motivated to do it.

So, newcomers as well as retakers, Lets get together, support each other and lets pass the RN test. WE CAN DO IT.

For now, I have started practicing Q&A at least 2 hrs/day from Saunders CD. I will keep you updating and hope you all will share the tips as well.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF US. :welcome: TO THE SUPPORT GROUP .

Let's do our part, and the Guy upstairs will do His... if its meant to be then so be it..

Merry Xmas everyone :)

I will pray for you narsingboy. You can do it. As always like mentioned in the above post, take breaks if u need to, breathe, eliminate answer choices, write lab values or whatever you feel like you will forget on the white board that you get.

emmsha,

congratulations........ you are the first one to pass in the december family.

Emmsha, Thanks so much for that prayer. I am having a hard time staying focus on doing questions. It seems like everytime I start to do them I get a migraine headache. I will not let Satan have his way, I speak peace into my life and ask God to help me prevail through these questions. I have to stay focus for this is not my first time taking the test either. I am studying from Saunders and NCSBN.

OH I forgot CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cash,

It is exactly like what happened to me before. I would gather all my books, energy to study but i couldn't just thinking crazy like what if.....this and what if that.......why didnt i pass.......i am not capable. seriously it took me 4 months to recover from the hurricane of failing nclex. even now my mind wanders every now and then and get HA......when that happens i log in to this site and read success stories and encouragement. even none of my family members understand what i am going through. Cash, we are here for each other. dont push yourself that you must take in 45 days or 90 days. take your time and honestly it took me so long to recover from the self inflicted trauma. unless you can focus and concentrate there is no use of doing just questions. i failed in july 19th and my 90 days were up in oct 19th. even 3 months after i was not ready. my whole point is relax, take a break from books, read the success stories, get motivated

and the most important thing is dont just put your whole day in nclex thing. it makes you miserable. study like 2 hrs in the morning 2 hrs like late afternoon, 2 hrs in the evening and if you are a late nite person 2 hrs at night. i dont mean you have to do all 8 hrs but distribute your studying time here and there in small hrs (may be 3hrs in morning and 3 hrs in the evening, have the afternoon for yourself). that helped me a lot. before i just stayed in front of computer that i must finish this much today and that only put anxiety in me...... now i sit whenever i feel fresh thinking i will learn as much possible as i can and i dont pressure myself i must finish.....attitude. this was such a help to me.

Anyway, its getting long but dont study when you have HA and dont feel guilty about it. Take frequent breaks and practice questions when you have a fresh mind.

Good Luck.

Wizard,

Thanks you for your thoughts and encouraging words. Every now and then I get that way. Some days I don't do questions at all because I know if I do I will not remember a thing and then there are others when I am so into it. I am taking my time with taking the test, I guess that is why I don't have a date yet. I will stay positive and climb this NCLEX mountain. Its just somedays I am in the valley and overwhelmed.
