Not a lot of coverage on the baby that was decapitated during birth and the nursing staff that helped to try and cover it up.
This happened in July.
I'm an advocate for these nurses losing their licenses, and being criminally charged.

They refused to allow the parents to hold the baby, then proceeded to swaddled the baby and PROP the head up. What other evidence do you need? That is not the behavior of innocent people. There is no way those parents should have left that hospital without being notified of what happened to their baby. Period.
I've seen exactly one side to this story.
I can't tell you how many times I've seen a family and a lawyer stand in front of cameras and give a sob story and say all sorts of garbage that ends up being patently false.
I'm not saying that's what this will be. I'm saying there needs to be a formal investigation and a collection of facts. IMO if you've made up your mind before that point then all I hear is that the underlying truth doesn't matter.
And again, I'd love to hear someone stand up and say yes they would have given the parents their baby with the head detached from the body.

Yes, I would have told them the truth.
(The alternative being the propping up behind a window)
I recall a story my fundamentals of nursing professor told us. In the 1950s, she was a new nurse, and the mother had delivered/miscarried a molar pregnancy.
The new nurse wrapped up the molar "baby" and allowed the mother to hold. It's that simple.

Telling the parents the truth and handing them pieces of their baby is very different.
I don't know if disclosing that information is even something I would be allowed to do as a nurse. That sounds like a conversation that the physician needs to have. I've never encountered this issue but I've always thought disclosing complications and errors was not in our scope.
Regarding the other point, I read a statement by the hospital in an article that they called the ME. ME says they were not called by the hospital. I imagine investigators would have to review the documentation, speak with relevant staff from both sides, and pull phone recordings. Just another reason why I'm reserving judgment until I see facts.

This story is so horrifying that all sides need to be presented. No one has heard the nurses or doctor's side. The bottom line is you weren't there. Sure the parents may be giving an accurate account, but all sides need to be heard. In other words you are saying these nurses and doctor need their licenses revoked/disciplined without asking them what happened.

No, the bottom line is a baby died. And I said nothing about anyone's license being revoked. Those are your words...

Not telling them their baby was decapitated during child birth is indefensible. There is nothing they can say to defend that action.
