Debinding books?

Published

Hi everyone

I think I remember reading somewhere on this forum about nursing students who debinded their giant textbooks and put them in a three-ring binder. I thought this was a great idea and looked for the thread where I saw this idea but I couldn't find it. I was wondering where the people that did this took your books to have this done or maybe the thread that this topic was discussed. I have a close to 2000 page book that I would LOVE to do this to! THANKS!!!:monkeydance:

Do you guys know any place other than kinkos that does this? I don't have a kinkos anywhere near where I live. Thanks!

Yes, staples will do it. I did it to mine and it's much easier to handle!

I have done this to all my huge books, and LOVE it, however my staples said they did not have a machine big enough, whatever they meant by that. I had mine done at Kinkos. With my HUGE fundamentals book, this helps tremendously, at by the end of the semester, i had many followers.

They told me the same thing at one store and another one said it was fine that the problem was that they could not cut off the binding in one piece but they were still able to do it and it came out just fine. I only have a staples nearby so I had to make due. If you ask around you might find one willing to.

I did mine on Tuesday. As soon as I finished reading this thread I went to my bookstore, bought my foundations book, then went to kinkos and had both that one and my medterm book debound.

It is perfect! My medterm tests are with random chapters, like 1, 2 and 5, then 14, 7, and 4. So I pulled the first three I needed out and stuck them into my binder. I love not having to carry so much crap with me.

I think this is a great idea and worth a bump.

I went through all of LPN school carrying around a 2000 page med-surg book..now I feel like an idiot. What a simple, yet WONDERFUL idea! The only thing I have a question about is, did you ever want to look something up but then realized that you didn't have the right 'section' with you? Did you leave the other sections at home or in your car so you could get to them easy?
