Death of a Special Co-Worker

This week we learned that the speech therapist for our unit, Jill drowned while trying to save her 12 year old son from the same. They were down in Costa Rica on vacation. She was a beautiful, charming, graceful young woman with a non stop smile on her face. And a very kind heart. We all loved her dearly. I suppose that for what ever reason her time was done here. I will never understand it. But, we just need a few prayers for her son who is suffering profound grief over the loss of his beloved mother. And we need a few, as her friends as we work through her loss. We have lost her ever present smile and our unit just not the same these days.

Such a sad story but so inspirational to actually read of a mother laying down her life for her son. This family is in my thots and prayers. And I pray for your unit too.

My condolences go out to you.

Please remember the son if you can in a year's time, for all the caring bestowed on him early on may wither with time. My dear wife had this happen:

Lost her mom when she was only 12; the doctor was out of town, this happened on a weekend. She died of a PE. Pray you never get sick on a weekend! Anyway, in a years time no one ever came calling to see her and say how sorry they were for her loss and bring the family comfort food, which works wonders by the way.

Recently we visited her loving aunt and family who are still of the living, every each one of them during this gathering took the time to thank her/his parent for the blessings of their parentage and yes, my wife and I didn't look too happy, having families distant and fathers, brothers never to be joined again in family reunion. I said to myself, "Don't let my envy have the better of me!" But I could not quiet my longing for a family reunion. I make it up later by playing the reunion in meditation as it used to be when all were around the family hearth whenever I feel this way, this wretched way.

Anyway, thanks for listening.

Prayers go out to the son...

Bye for now!
